It was weird today, giving my cello back during orchestra. I guess I really never thought about it until then. I'd had it through BOA and FMBC and orchestra for 3 years. It was MY baby. I cherished that thing like my life. Sure I have a cello, but that thing was with me for band competitions and big things. I turned it in and almost broke down in the back room after kissing the scroll for the last time. I never thought i'd have an emotional bond with an instrument. I about turned around and got it to beg on my hands and knees to let me buy it from Mr. Calmer. But I degress. It really made me see that it was finally over. That my life in this class was finished and I wouldn't be first chair principle anymore, that I wouldn't be sharing laughter with my stand partner, that I couldn't make jokes and hang with the principles of each section anymore. That class became my life. How do you move on when something was the biggest impact in your life? When something developed you and MADE you? My love of my instrument gave me the spirit and confidence I have now. It's just hard.
