Gunko was not a fan of paperwork. But someone had to take over after Shamrock vanished. The love sick moron. Did he really think a note would be enough to explain?
Then again, he probably wasn't in the best place mentally…. Not her problem. She had to deal with his father rampaging about him becoming a pirate.
She just sighed when the door to her office burst open with no knocking. She sensed who was coming a.while ago.
Calm peaceful dream’s embrace. Distant roar of lightning like galloping hooves. Dark clouds spelling rain.
“Killingham,” she greeted, not even looking up from her work. Just a few more and she can go home. Listen to some music and relax. “I hope your trip was fruitful,” she mused. She didn't understand why he went to the ports below the sky if he didn't like it there. As shown by his helmet still being on. His brother was not coming here, and Killingham wasn't going to him. He was just hurting himself.
“Look what I found,” he grinned, showing all his sharp teeth, the two golden fangs stood out in particular.
Gunko looked at the paper he slammed on her desk not expecting much, but then she had to set her pen aside. Blinking a few times to make sure her eyes were working properly.
Shamrock.
Shamrock had a new wanted poster. The last one they saw at Knight’s meeting that ended abruptly by Saint Garling becoming too enraged to continue. And he'd definitely not like this one.
On his left arm, in the place of the Mark were flowers and feathers. Likely covering a scar from however he removed it.
“We’ll have to talk to Mjosgard,” she decided. Even Cerberus made it into the poster. As cute as ever, watching over Shamrock.
“Obviously we have to show him,” Killingham rolled his eyes. Finally remembering to remove the helmet. “I came here to get you so we can show him what this massive idiot has done to himself.”
“He looks a lot less miserable than these four years before he vanished,” Gunko noted, cleaning up her desk for the day. This was more important than reports and conflicts between families.
“He looks like he went insane!” Killingham cackled. “I got posters for his crew too.” He passed more posters to Gunko.
“And your brother?” she asked quickly scanning the other posters
“Nothing new, it seems his crew is laying low for the time being,” Killingham shrugged.
“At least he's with decent company. These two are Low World nobles,” she noted.
“How do you know that?”
“Silver tooth caps,” she pointed out. Killingham hummed in a way that told her he didn't really get it so she explained as they made it to Mjosgard’s estate.
By then he more or less understood the concept. More of a less, but Gunko would let it pass. At least he only tripped on his own feet like five times and didn't fall asleep.
Servants quickly fetched their friend. Who greeted them warmly and had a quick tea with a side of something sweet being prepared promptly.
Gunko let herself enjoy his peaceful signature while tea and cake was being served before all servants would leave them alone.
Freshly made black tea. Sweet treats and wine. Enjoyed in full sun surrounded by flowers.
Mjosgard's signature never failed to calm her down. Her own wasn't as pleasant. Made more sensitive people cry.
Arrows piercing the sky aimed by orders, deep sorrow for something long forgotten, distant music both familiar and not.
She sighed remembering how Shamrock summed it up when they went on assignment together for the first time.
“So what brings you two here? Don't take me wrong I always love seeing you both,” Mjosgard smiled over his cup of tea.
“Killi found a new wanted poster after Shamrock,” Gunko said, shaking her fellow knight awake. “And this time we have some after his crew too,” she added.
“Shamrock went insane,” Killingham yawned as Mjosgard inspected the four posters.
“His captain looks like quite an intimidating figure,” Mjosgard chuckled, setting the first poster aside. “Ah, what a proper lady, and they're nobles. A Ghost? There's no way she's an actual ghost right?”
“She's probably too strong for the marines so they came up with some story to make themselves look better. Her sword is cool though,” Killingham shrugged between bites of cake. “Look at Shamrock.”
“Oh my, these feathers have to be for Rosi,” Mjosgard frowned, his eyes going over the poster with care and attention. “Even an earring.”
“Sentimental jerk,” Gunko huffed.
“Do you think he'll get a tattoo to commemorate us?” Killingham wondered, but Gunko was guessing he was joking. She hoped he was. She didn't want to think how Shamrock would interpret the three of them.
“It would be fun,” Mjosgard hummed. “It says something about Marine Base G3, that's not far from Water Seven and then Sabaody. If we're fast about it I could get us an excuse to be there possibly in time if they'd stop in Water Seven for longer,” Mjosgard theorised with a slight smile.
Gunko would lie if she said she wasn't interested in at least trying to see Shamrock. If just so she can yell at him about his letter in person. “Lord Imu won't pay us any attention if we're guarding you,” she noted.
“Wait, you two want me to….”
“It would be a part of your training. Sabaody is the closest under the clouds to Mariejois. And Celestials often go there, we won't stand out,” Gunko cut out all complaints. They were all going. To check on Shamrock and call him an idiot.
2 Rosinante
It was about a month before uncle Garp visited him again. Magallan didn't look too happy but Rosi didn't care. He would bite him again if he got the chance.
“Hello kiddo, I'm staying in Marineford for a bit so I came by. I finally found that girl you told me about. Bennett,” Garp started, sitting down.
Was he approved for a longer visit? “Anna? What happened?” He remembered the girl. Got into marines at sixteen, struggled through training with younger kids making fun of her and her devil fruit. How she got it she never told him.
“Akainu assigned her to G3 before I could swipe her, the asshole,” Garp huffed. “She's recovering from fighting your lover boy's dog, by the way.”
“She…. They attacked G3? Are they insane?” Rosinante leaned forward as much as chains allowed him. Face a couple centimetres off the bars.
“They leveled it with the ground with no casualties, with just four people,” Garp grinned and laughed. “That's my grandson for you. Would have made a great marine.”
Rosinante was in shock. G3 is supposed to be one of the best defended bases. And they…. With just four. “I'm guessing they got new posters?”
“Almost forgot, here,” Garp pulled out the packet of papers and passed it to him through the bars. Luckily Magellan left them mostly alone, aside from other prisoners. Not like Garp or dad would help him escape.
He looked at the Mad Hatter, grinning wide, with sharp teeth and wild look in his eyes. The Princess looked regal. Ghost…. There was something off…. She was tripping, wasn't she? And yet she somehow managed to look cool. Must be the mask and almost no distinction between walls and ceilings in marine bases.
And then there was Shamrock.
Rosinante's brain legitimately stopped working for a moment. Oni’gi’ri was there behind his wielder. Looking cute and ferocious at once. He'd coo over the big puppy if not for how his Clover was looking.
Soaking wet, his shirt could have as well not been there. His hair pushed back showing his dangling feather earring. He looked hot. Hotter than ever. Rosinante was just a man, he'd burst into flames seeing Shamrock in this state in person. But it wasn't what got him.
A tattoo.
Shamrock, his Clover, got a tattoo of flowers Rosi knows he associates with everyone in Firestorm. And they were surrounded by flames and feathers that from the picture looked to almost perfectly match his coat-feathers.
That was enough for the feather he was fiddling with to snap and ignite the flint dust all around him. Just for a brief moment before he shook it down. He could feel how red his face was.
This…. What the depths, Clover. He thought, shoving the posters into his coat as Magellan returned to see what's going on.
“I accidentally snapped a feather. It happens when you're clumsy,” Rosinante rolled his eyes as the warden cut the visit off. Asshole, he thought while wrapping himself tightly in his coat. It was nice to know it still worked properly. He was very careful with it so far.
Damn. If he ever gets out of here he'll thank whoever made that shirt for his Clover. And then curse them. To think the whole world saw his boyfriend like that….
3 Warlords
Doflamingo thought the whole meeting was useless. Why discuss some rookies who probably won't even make it to Fishman Island? Or even if they do and somehow make it to the New World they will die or be absorbed by a bigger crew.
Depths. They never had these before. Of course not everyone showed up.
“Hanafuda is not showing up?” Moria guessed, yawning.
Doflamingo huffed. Of course he didn't. Was probably too busy looking for zoans to bother. As if he himself wasn't too busy.
“He's currently tracking movements of the Go-Go pirates,” Sengoku let them know as he entered in the middle of Moria's question.
Doflamingo didn't like them so he wouldn't complain too much. Why? He just didn't.
“There are two crews I need you to be very aware of. First is the Spade pirates,” Garp seemed to tense up next to Sengoku. We're his crackers not agreeing with him. “Their captain, Firefist Ace, ate flame-flame fruit, a fire logia, and already has a worrying mastery of its powers. The rest of his crew are formidable opponents as well, their first mate, Masked Deuce seemed to be the brains....”
Doflamingo tuned out the rest of the talk. He wasn't interested in some upstart blazing his way up the Grand Line just to snap his neck the first time he meets someone stronger.
To his credit, possibly only Jinbei was listening. Their goody two shoes. Mihawk seemed to listen but not really paid it much attention.
Moria was openly yawning. Crocodile polishing his hook. And Hancock was more interested in petting her snake while checking her nails.
But then Sengoku moved to the other crew and moods changed. Crocodile was seemingly actually listening. Mihawk sat a bit straighter.
Maybe this crew.was worth paying attention to.
“Next are the Wonderland pirates. They're extremely dangerous, even if only four members are known to actively participate in combat.” Only four of them fight and Sengoku sounded like he was talking about a Yonko level crew? “They're all referred to by nicknames at orders above me,” even more interesting.
“Their captain is the Mad Hatter,” as Sengoku spoke a picture of a teenager in royal blue coat, half unbuttoned shirt.with fox ears and tails, grinning widely, flashing silver teeth caps and as expected of a zoan user animalistic teeth.
Doflamingo whistled. Okay, maybe this one would be actually interesting.
“Their Vice Captain, Princess,” Boa Hancock was looking attentively at the girl on the poster. Dressed in orange, with copper hair and a lace umbrella. And a thin, straight sword the kind of which is rarely seen. “Uses unusual swords art that relies on swift movement.”
Also fun.
“Then, Ghost,” mask, dark navy hair. Clearly in motion holding a blade in white and dark crimson sheath. “Winner of the Aki Island Swordsmanship Tournament, according to Mihawk their duel ended up in a draw.”
“Same with Princess, not that any of us went all out. The island is quite relaxing,” Mihawk nodded. Was it pride in his voice? By the skies, the man gets one decent fight and gets attached.
“And lastly,” apparently that was enough on this one, “the Black Knight.”
Doflamingo nearly fell off his chair. For once having bothered with one. He knew that red hair and that three headed dog. Rosi's little childhood friend. The one who always ran after Mjos with him to the woods to search for who knows what.
And that damn dog. How many times did he run home to get away from it? Or was chased up a tree?
“Another celestial dragon turned to piracy?” Doflamingo asked to be petty. Little Knight wants to pretend he's not from up there? Not on his watch.
The result was mostly what he expected. Mihawk didn't seem shocked. But he did apparently meet this crew before.
“He used to play with my brother and cousin,” Doffy shrugged.
“You have a brother?” Moria didn't seem to believe him.
“Had. He died some seven years ago,” Doflamingo said cheerfully, looking directly at Sengoku. “I suspect he's very dangerous.”
“Yes, during their attack at G3 he only used haki, and his dog,” Sengoku seemed ready to jump him.
Good.
This whole meeting made him remember unpleasant memories. Mostly of Rosi crying into his dumb knight's shirt after falling and scraping his knee. He should have gone to his older brother, not some random kid.
i just know that percy annabeth and grover are those Three Friends who are absolutely. Indecipherable when they're together. like they operate on an entirely different plane of reality. they have their own little inside jokes and shit, but even worse than that, all of their brains are just so fucking chaotic that only they can understand one another when they're excited. so you'll be standing next to them at a cabin counselor meeting and all three of them are talking so fast you're not even sure if they're speaking english (Grover might actually be yapping in ancient greek, it's impossible to tell) and they look like absolute lunatics, going off on different tangents of thought, it doesnt even sound like they're talking about the same thing, and then somehow by the end of the meeting they're able to present a brilliant let's-kick-kronos'-ass strategy with perfect cohesion. like honestly what the fuck
love how percy and annabeth became friends tbh. they absolutely hated each other to the ends of the earth for like 200 pages (and when i say hated each other i mean he almost sacrificed her to medusa and she used him as bait in capture the flag), and then for the next 100 pages they're obviously good friends, because you can only save someone's life so many times before accidentally bonding. but percy still. has not knocked it into his head that they are friends now and is 100% confident that annabeth still hates him. she straight up tells him in the back of a truck that they're hitchhiking to LA "we're friends you idiot" because she knows she needs to verbally confirm it and he's just like "oh cool" and Boom. platonic codependency for like 4 years until Grover presumably punches Annabeth as they bake percy's 16th birthday cake and says "would you fucking get together already"

the more i think about it the more a stranger things s4 x pjo au makes sense.
Kronos, the literal titan of time, as vecna, who haunts characters via visions of traumatizing things that happened to them in the past and sending them hallucinations of a grandfather clock.
percy being cursed in max's place because the nosebleed symptom is important to him considering what happens later in the series but also because a) max = skater kid so they must swap characters and b) annabeth as lucas becoming popular and starting to ignore him has so. much. potential. considering that in canon she has more mortal friends than he does and also we know that she's always wanted that kind of idealistic mortal life. especially what with the way they fought in book four.
nico as erica learning from reyna (dustin.) grover could also be dustin as max/lucas/percy/annabeth's friend. jason as mike and leo as will, although their personalities are obviously different. robin as clarisse, silena as nancy. beckendorf's character being distributed between jonathan and steve. piper as will as well, trying to figure out where she stands in it all, trying to figure out her identity. eleven's character being distributed to all of them because there's not a singular one with her abilities, but most of her character arc being concentrated on percy since he also has the ability to manipulate blood and was the 'chosen one' of a prophecy.
idk it just has a lot u could do with it. maybe i'll write it someday.
