Elevated Ants on a Log
Here’s a celery challenge: how fancy can you fancy up your Ants on a Log?
Our favourite stalky greens have been receiving extra attention as of late for their liquid incarnation. Celery Juice, while perhaps not exactly miraculous, is certainly an antioxidant-rich and highly quenching way to start (or continue) the day. But besides being professional juicers (so we would say that, wouldn’t we?) we’re also keen observers of the world, and it seems to us that the hollow basins of our celery stalks demand a slathering of nut, seed, or drupe butter... no?
To do your own investigative research, try frosting your logs with the following:
Tahini mixed with a squeeze of lemon; topped with salt, Za’atar, chili flakes, and micro-greens
Peanut or almond butter and mashed raspberries
Coconut butter, with chocolate drizzle and a sprinkle of chia seeds
Hummus—with tomatoes, salt and pepper, and fresh parsley
Tahini mixed with maple syrup, topped with lemon zest and dried rose petals
Peanut butter and dried currants (AKA “The Classic”)
Coconut butter, with a sprinkle of hemp seeds
Hummus—with cucumber, salt and pepper, and fresh parsley
