Firstly the little bit of lore on Cecilus. Him taking out an army during the Rite of the Imperial Selection and being the #1 mass murderer in the world doesn’t seem shocking.

I’m also really not that shocked by the fact he refuted the Monster claim either. I did muse in Battle Ballad the strongest mgee of Volakia def committed War Crimes based on their cultural standards so this all checks out.

I’m moreso interested in why Cecilus is so loyal to Vincent? He seems moreso the type of person to be a chaos loving person and going where the winds take him.

However… there is an explanation I suppose that could make sense.

The pretty obvious fact Cecilius is a Stargazer based on how he is talking of himself being the “star actor” on this worlds stage. Guy is like. 99.9% confirmed to be one of those folks with how he’s yapping with himself in relation to that.

Another is the fact Balleroy earlier was speaking of how Cecilus and Reinhard are similar. The clear thing is the Monster association lobbed at them both + their strength, but obviously if Cecilus is a Fate involved mgee duh that also lines up with Reinhard.

Circling back around but. If Cecilus is one of those weirdo’s perhaps the dictates of Fate make it apparent he must be loyal to Vincent and that’s what is compelling him. Though honestly, with how anti-Stargazer Vincent seemed earlier this is a bit of an incongruent explanation?

I suppose if I further extrapolate perhaps Cecilus despite being a Stargazer isn’t actually a mighty big fan of the lack of free will and is supporting Vincent to screw up that sort of system.

That’s really fucking weird. Balleroy is implying here that Cecilus is sorta his own free agent mostly so perhaps Vincent did try to summon him and he just didn’t cooperate and they’re using the business excuse to save face?

Or Cecilus is genuinely out on business. Which uhm. Is a bit concerning because wth is more important then being around Reinhard whilst he’s in the country?? If it was an order from Vincent I’m rlly wondering wut he sent Cecilus out to do.

Anyhow lol Reinhard subtly (in his own way) saying he doesn’t want the Sword Saint job. Guy is constantly hollering about it I swear.

Nowww. Balleroy’s interaction with Reinhard generally here is curious. He re-evaluates Reinhard as not being modest but rather Reinhard understanding his strength. I actually think Balleroy is 100% spot on here contrary to what I expect the popular opinion to be which is Balleroy is dead wrong about Reinhard.

We’ve seen Reinhard in Felt Camp SS’s show a sense of childish omnipotence in his own strength that is in its own way is something one could construe as arrogant. Reinhard does get how OP he is. And that sort of energy seems to be something Balleroy picks up since it seems (to me anyways) he is implying Cecilus is this way also.

Final thing. But Julius seems to see himself in Balleroy for a hot sec here towards the end in how Balleroy looked speaking of Cecilus.

Why exactly was it important of you to leave the Crystal Palace ASAP? Does he anticipate somebody cottoning onto the fact he ordered most probably Cecilus to kill Belleroy?

I guess another reason is he could be doing that to see whom would so easily try to take power from his position as the Emperor now that he’s gone, and since Vincent most probably purged Balleroy due to him being problematic for Vincent, he’s basically trying to clean house and using the Lugunicans to do so.

A final alternative could be that actually, Balleroy is somehow alive and this was an elaborate fake death staging and Vincent doesn’t wanna be around to get linked to that and that all this falsity is also to lure out all his political enemies. But I admit this one is the one I’m most doubtful of. Though, Felix never got his hands on Balleroy so it’s not 100% crazy to say his figure looked dead to the average person but wasn’t actually.

Now uh. I wanna point out a thing that bothered me. Vincent claims to be bothered a “child of man” like Reinhard has a DP that is like the Earth Dragons. This could be merely an innocuous remark admittedly that is just Tappei poking fun at how OP Reinhard is + more dehumanization of Reinhard.

However a part of me is suspicious if Vincent is actually troubled because he may understand DP’s are connected to the Observers, a force he may potentially be against I analyzed earlier with how he spoke of the Stargazers.

Oh what in the actual… welp. It seems the idea I proposed w/ some doubt earlier on Vincent having been behind Balleroy’s death is gaining steam. Presumably he did the deed via ordering Cecilus then. But honestly. Vincent is such a drama queen lmao. Guy is using a line from that story once more to get what he wants across. And speaking of this line though from that Guillotine of Magrizza tale errmmmm.

Wut is dis Tappei to have the story talk about a “vessel of wrath” so “foul” that the moon and stars are turning its face from them? That uh. Lowkey makes me wonder if the assassin in this Guillotine of Magrizza tale was actually once a holder of the Wrath WF. We know from Q&A’s people whom held the factors existed prior to the historical 7 Witches, so it’s not implausible.

Another thing I’d like to address is Reinhard having taken Vincent hostage prior to Vincent making it clear that was what he wanted. That’s really odd. Reinhard isn’t an idiot. It would be a bad look to do such a thing, yet he did anyways.

This leads me to think of 2 possibilities. One is that Reinhard knew it looked bad but decided to do it because everything was fucked anyways and with Vincent secured he could atleast negotiate for Miklotov’s and Bordeaux’s safety whom aren’t with him atm.

The other is that Reinhard being Reinhard in having amazing instincts + heavily being implied to perhaps have some insight into the future understood hostaging Vincent was the path everything was accumulating towards and thus acted prior to Vincent saying his wishes.

Now. Getting an explanation as to Reinhard’s rationale for hostaging Vincent is nice given my earlier speculations. I admit to still feeling what I said there holds a lot of truth though.

Moving on and it’s time to buckle in for what’s def a Divine General attacking them given how Vincent is actin’ here. Perhaps Cecilus is pulling up at last since he’s surely in the area.

Also. Also. One last thingie but. Wdym by “pulse” in your Crystal Palace was what directed you Vincent to go the area where Balleroy died..? I’m assuming he magic crystals in the place are connected to Vincent.

So did Vincent feel perhaps if Balleroy died his Od getting slurped up for mana that then goes into the crystals (which is how I’m assuming the Crystal Palace in general has such a focused concentration of continuous mana in the magic crystals since surely plenty people die there a year) and thus investigating the source of where that came from?
