You giggle. “You look too serious. Had to fix that.”

Cecilion slowly lowers the book, frowning with puffed-out cheeks still trapped in your hands. “Y/n... this is most undignified.”

“But you’re so squishable,” you tease, gently moving his cheeks back and forth. “Like an angry bat-shaped marshmallow.”

He gives you the most deadpan, wounded look a vampire noble could muster. “I am a creature of the night. A master of arcane power. A—”

“—squish muffin,” you finish for him, giving one last squeeze before letting go.

He sighs dramatically, rubbing his face. “You are lucky I adore you.”

You grin. “I know.”

A pause. Then, softly—

“…Do it again.”

You blink. “What?”

He turns his face, cheeks slightly pink. “If it makes you smile like that... you may squish me again.”
