About cdrsrogers:
oh my god. where do i even start? first of all, i adore caitlyn as a human being. sheâs brilliant, hysterical, and a really amazing friend. like iâm really, really, really glad sheâs in my life; i love talking to her whether itâs about something serious or weâre derping around or just rolling around in feels. secondly, p much every character she writes is fucking golden. she has such an incredible ability to put depth and voice and complexity into every single one (and she has a million bc sheâs also a crazy person i LOVE YOU AND YOUR TEN THOUSAND BLOGS CAITLYN). even the chars from fandoms i donât know, i wanna write with them bc they are just all amazing. and her steve... dfhl;adfh;agh;aoh;a i need to find a way to translate keyboard smash into english bc thatâs my actual emotion about her steve. thereâs that complexity and depth i was talking about, and she puts so. much. thought. in to why he is the way he is, why he does what he does, why he feels certain things. it comes across in her writing--which is always fucking beautiful. thereâs a rhythm and a flow to it, and it just sucks you in. she causes me so much pain with her stupid beautiful words and stupid beautiful steve and i just keep coming back for more bc itâs p much the air i breathe at this point. i literally canât find the words to express how great i think she is with steve--i have to restrain myself (a little, lol) from being like CAITLYN LOVE ME because our threads not only make me ridic happy but really inspire me to write bucky in general and strive to meet her level of perfection. plus, i joke about this a lot, but itâs really because of the richness of her portrayal that i started shipping stucky. Â I JUST REALLY LOVE CAITLYN A LOT AND IâM SUPER HAPPY WEâRE FRIENDS AND I THINK SHEâS A SERIOUSLY TALENTED PERSON AND I JUST WANT ALL THE THINGS WITH HER OKAY THE END

â cdrsrogers continued from here
         âI gave the rest of the team the day off to spend the fourth with their families.â
The team. Avengers. James grimaced and looked away. He was surely still an enemy to them; Steve might not fight him, but they would. And he would deserve it.Â
Another word hung heavy on the air. Families. He stole a sideways glance at Steve and wordlessly hung his jacket and cap on the coatrack. He felt empty without them, as if theyâd been some kind of shield, but it was the same instinct that made him remove them in the first place: an effort at companionship. At what had once been, for both of them. Because now, their families were gone. Even if James could remember, everyone he knew was surely dead. He had to believe heâd had a family once. He couldnât have been born a weapon.Â
It was strange that that isolation, that sense of not belonging, united them now. Almost as if they were two sides of the same coin. Steve became a hero. James... well. Every light had a shadow.Â
âCold,â he said softly. He didnât actually know how he preferred it, but that seemed like a good response for a hot day. He shifted his weight, crossed his flesh arm across his body to grip the metal bicep. He kept thinking about the Avengers.
âI am... not here... fight,â he said after a moment. That same imploring look from before and his face was tight with the frustration of words he could not vocalize. âDifferent.âÂ
â cdrsrogers ;;
âI told you, it wasnât anything I couldnât handle.âÂ
A lie, but it was the only thing he had left. The alternative was too--too everything. Too much, too terrifying, too awful. The hope that Steve would leave it alone was likely a pipe dream, but, well. Hope was all he had left, too.Â
