Since day one of this group there has always been mandatory tasks and events. In the very beginning there was a new task AND event every month. I believe it was the year of 2016 Admins Lena, Elle and myself had the entire year planned by the end of 2015. We were so excited for all the things we planned and by the end of 2016 participation had started to dwindle. Every year since the amount of tasks and events we do has gone down and every time we do try to plan something people are either taking hiatus’ or not finishing things they start or just not posting event stuff. I know I am guilty of this as well in recent times. 

I’m trying to figure out where to go from here when it comes to tasks and events. I could think of things for us to do. Ideas I’ve had for years that other admins hadn’t wanted to do that I’ve always wondered if the players would actually enjoy it, things past admins have suggested we hadn’t gotten a chance to do yet, and I’m also open to suggestions. 

However, as I am the only admin now and real life is chaotic I don’t want to spend a whole bunch of time on something if the group as a whole isn’t going to participate. I was thinking of making a poll but I’d rather hear from everyone directly. I’m asking EVERYONE to message into this page through the IM feature and let me know your thoughts/feelings/concerns/suggestions on tasks and events for the future. 

If we do plan on doing an event soonish I don’t want it to be too soon and rush to plan. I was thinking we could do a Christmas event, New Years event or Valentines event. Or we could do nothing at all and just play our storylines. 

I don’t want to call this a task but it kind of is. I really need to hear from everyone ASAP.

It’s been a little too quiet around here so it’s time to let everyone know what you’ve been up to. Think of this like that annoying first assignment when you go back to school after the summer and they ask you to write an essay about what you did over summer vacation. The events lately haven’t had much activity and many people continue to play on discord instead of the dash. Therefore we need an update!

This is a mandatory task for ALL characters! Must be completed by Monday October 3, 2022

You are to write a self para that can be as long as you want but must be a minimum of 2 paragraphs (7-10 sentences in each paragraph) giving a recap of what’s been going on in your characters life. We’ve done a lot of video diary/interview style paras for stuff like this in the past, not saying you can’t do that now, but do try to find a creative/new way to hit all the points.

Something their looking forward to during the final leg of 2022

Please join me in my home on Saturday, August 29th for a traffic light pool party.  No kids please.  There will be tons of food, a couple of bar stations, and lots of dance music.

This is a mandatory event for all the celebrities currently at Carpe Diem! Everyone must talk (gif chat/para) with one person who isn’t their ship partner (labelled as in a relationship, dating, married, ect on the ships page) during this event. 

This is a mandatory task for ALL players!

Cliques are a problem in every roleplay group. We try our best to include everyone but sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes there’s too many characters, sometimes we get wrapped up in our ships, sometimes we lack ideas to connect certain characters, whatever the reason we’re all guilty of doing it at least once. Together we can start the process of branching out, making new connections and making new ooc friends. 

This task has three steps to it:

Make a list of all the PLAYERS (not characters. You would put Sarah or Britt instead of Lucy or Liam) you have never done a para with. If you’ve somehow done a para with every single player then make your list of players you’ve done 5 or less paras with. Submit your list to the events blog via the submit box.

Get randomly paired with 1 or more players. Once you know who you’re paired with message them to figure out which characters you’re going to para.

Play your para out. When your para reaches 10+ notes you will be given full task credit. 

Depending on how big your list is you can tell us how many pairs you’re willing to do. You can even choose to do all of them. We haven’t figured out the points yet so that will be posted with the pairings later on. 

This is a mandatory task for every player and for every character. 

The admin team has been working really hard to get all the pages on the main updated. With characters coming and going sometimes things get lost in the cracks so sometimes we need you guys to give us a hand and check everything. We post about page updates but a lot of times we don’t get messages about things, even when we know we should, so we need everyone to go to the following pages and fill out the following form. There’s one form that’s for the player, meaning you only have to fill it out once, then there’s one form for the character, you need to fill that out for each character. You may send in ONE submit with all of your forms or you can send them one by one or however you want. 

There really isn’t a time limit for this, however we would appreciate that all forms be in before the new year. Also, until all of your forms are submitted to us here at the events blog you will be on a hold, meaning you cannot pick up any new characters, you cannot switch, you cannot get any plots approved, and you cannot use reward points to get your characters/plots approved. Since this is a task, upon completion you will earn 300 points via the rewards blog.

Monday October 10th is a holiday and I don’t work that day. Because of this we’re going to extend the due date for the task. Instead of being due Monday 10/3/22 it will now be due Tuesday 10/11/22. Giving our busy players some extra time and possibly a full day on the 10th to catch up on things. 

This group was created with the understanding a task and event would be posted monthly. The first couple of years we did do this but then over time the enthusiasm for tasks and events became non existent. Nobody seems to want to participate anymore. It’s been a problem for years so we have taken the last year off from anything but we want to get back out there and give the characters of the group something to do. 

We’re always open to suggestions from our players about things they’d like to do so we’re opening this up to the group to submit your ideas.

A task/event that goes together

All submissions should have ALL the information: Dates, times, itinerary, requirements, a tag for posts, ect. You can look at previous task/event posts for formatting ideas and what information we’ve put up in the past. 

We’re looking for things for December 2021 onward.
