he had to admit that above all else his ability to sense magical beings was pretty good (except of course from his off days and those times when he was preoccupied by other and more important things) so of course whenever he felt a magical presence he acted on it accordingly, whether that was casually following someone to see what they were up to or down right calling them out.

which was exactly the idea he had in mind. right now. 

“oi you.” he calls out rather loudly, causing a few mundanes to pay him a little attention before they realised it wasnt them he was talking to, but rather the man stood before him with his back turned. getting on with their daily lives and ignoring taemin and his target (as he liked to call them) all together.

Aelius hummed as his toes dug into the sand. He tilted his face up, smiled at the sun’s warmth, and made his way through the beach. It was one of those Rare Days. The sun was out, the beach wasn’t overly crowded, and Aelius had time to walk around, no trace of hurry in any of the steps he took.

Sandals in one hand, he made his way down the shoreline and continued to hum his tune, unbothered and satisfied. The water lazily lapped at the surface, placated with the mild weather as well. A familiar mop of hair and hunched figure on the jetty caught Aelius’s attention and his smile widened at the sight of Haru.

He slid on his sandals and jogged towards a cafe on the boardwalk, ordering an iced latte for himself and another iced drink for his new friend. He paid and thanked the auntie for the drinks before making his way towards the jetty.

for someone who is very close friends with alcohol and its effects, it's not really that unusual at all for leon to wake up in unfamiliar places. 

it doesn't usually hurt this much, though.

when he brings his palms up to his face and goes to press them down on his eyelids, all he feels is pain. ow. what? the skin around his eyes feels tender.. swollen, almost. he hesitates, then moves his arms back down -- and that hurts, too. blinking his eyes open, he stares at the ceiling. almost immediately, his head starts throbbing, much more than it usually does when he's hungover. 

holy shit, what did he do last night?

he shifts, wincing, and turns his head to his left side. no one's there, he sees the empty left side of a double bed. thank god. he breathes a sigh of relief, and turns to look at the room on the other side -- 

and he nearly shits his pants. "woah! oh my god!"

someone is standing there, watching him. but not just someone -- it's the tempest card.

or at least, he thinks it is. why does he look so.. weird? he appears human, for one thing, and weak-looking, and very different from the powerful card that he's been trying to capture for the last few weeks. or months. ( probably months. )

leon squints, which makes his head feel worse. his head is spinning; why is tempest standing there? why does he feel like he's dying? why can't he remember how he got here? 

normally, those questions lead to one thing. and if it was anyone else, leon would just accept it as a notch in his belt, eat breakfast and go. but the fact that it's tempest is confusing and alarming and about 50 shades of weird.

fuck.

he groans, rolling back to his other side ( with some effort ) and shuts his eyes tight again before speaking.
