Story time: Comic Con Portugal was this weekend. Even though it started on Thursday, I only went Saturday and Sunday - the days Jason Isaacs was gonna be there.
On Saturday, I decided I wanted a photo with him. I tried to save some money for six months so I could be able to get a photo with my favorite actor from the entire Harry Potter franchise, but as it turns out the photos with him were incredibly cheap. So I decided to get both a photo AND an autograph.
Saturday: I spent a few good hours in line waiting for Jason. I was the forth person to take a picture, but all the time I waited was absolutely worth it, because they weren’t rushing through anyone during the first photos. When I arrived to the photobooth, Jason had the biggest smile on. He extended his arm and gave me a really cute look and told me “hello, step into my office!”. So I walked in, and said “Hi! So nice to meet you! Can you wear my scarf?” He was totally excited about my request and promptly grabbed the scar and put it around his neck. “Yeah sure, I’ll wear it!” I didn’t want the conversation to be over immediately, so I just said “Yay, house pride, you know?”
His answer was a gigantic smile and a “Yes, of course. These are the best colors.”
So that was the end of the conversation for the moment and that’s the reason I had the biggest smile ever on our photo. I didn’t even realized until AFTER we took the photo that he had put the scarf around my neck too!
So we skip to Sunday and that’s when I decide to get an autograph. I had been to his Q&A on Saturday, actually managed to ask a question and again he was super nice and recognized my clothes as Slytherin colors from afar and was super excited. On Sunday, I waited again for a long time in line in order to be one of the first people to get an autograph so I could actually have some quick chat with him instead of rushing through it (which is what happens when you’re at the end of the line).
Jason was REALLY nice again and he told me he remembered me from the day before (from our photo). Again, he complimented my house choice and told me those were the best colors to wear (I think he’s obsessed with the Those are the best colors line). A little breakdown on our chat:
Me: “So, I just wanted to tell you I came all the way from the south of the country just to see you...” Jason: “No! Really?” M: “Yeah, I did!” J: “Oh my god, that is insane! How did you get here?” M: “By car. My mom brought me.” J: “Oh, wow, your mom is really devoted. What’re you gonna do for her?” M: “I’ll give her lots of kisses when I get home.” J: “Well, yeah, that’s all parents really want.”
By this point, he’s finished signing the photo, but he didn’t immediately hand it to me. He was laughing a lot during the whole talk and I was laughing too and super excited, so I was just grinning at him while he kept the photo on the table.
J: “Alright, so, are you a fan of the books or the movies?” M: “Well, both!” J: “Yeah, but which one do you prefer?” M: “The books.” J: “Good answer. You get the photo!”
So that’s when he hands me the signed photo. I was really happy and thought the thing was gonna be over but then he extended his hand so I could shake it. He was really warm and his hand was really soft and I died a little bit inside. He gave me the brightest smile ever and just said: “Well, thank you so much for being here to see me. Thank your mom for me, too!”
And that was the end of my life, pretty much. Jason was the sweetest, nicest guy ever (especially during the Q&A panel) and he was really, really charming. He’s absolutely gorgeous in person, even more so than in photos!
