Gamoniteiro. 14k, 1400 vertical meters. Easy math on this one: 10% average for almost ten miles. The first part - Cobertoria - which they've used in the Vuelta in the past, was just bad. It was one of those painfully wide, steep roads that never end in the worst way. At the top of that slog though, there was a small turn-off - and the magic began. And so did the really, really cold. After that monster, we only had 160k, four big climbs, and close to 4000 more meters of climbing to go - just a normal day with Phil Deeker and the Cent Cols. #ccccantabrico #centcolschallenge #roadsthatmakemehappy (at Gamoniteiro)

It's tough knowing which way to dodge an oncoming herd of cattle when they're in the middle of the road. Do I go left? Do I go right? Should I be nervous? It's not something you generally think about, but during the last ten days, the topic of animal dodging was hot - cattle, horses, dogs, sheep, animal poop, old men - all reasons to stay awake at the handlebars. :-) #centcolschallenge #CCCCantabrico #RaphaTravel #outsideisfree

I made it! I made it! I made it! We are on top of the final climb of the Cent Cols Cantabrico right now - high above Bilbao, where it all began. I can't believe we made it to the end. I will be happy to sleep in tomorrow morning, but I'm guessing I will wake up for a minute or two early tomorrow and wonder about the sunrise.
