It had been almost a week, since Izzie had saw Geno last -- and she would be lying to herself if she said she hadn't missed him, hadn't wanted to go round to his house and just... be with him. But after what had happened between him and Caroline, she was wary, and rightly so. Caroline and Izzie had come to verbal blows, which hurt Izzie's head even more, she had lost one of her best friends, and a guy she really liked, she had needed both of them to come to terms with her father being back in her life and both of them, had betrayed her. Caroline had never told her that she had feelings for Geno, and Geno had kissed Caroline. It was all so confusing, the brunettes head throbbed from the thoughts, not just from the blow on her head.
Jae looked pitiful, resting his head on her thighs as the TV blared loudly, her father passed out in a drunken stupor, new bruises had become visible on Izzie's arms and some on her legs, but nothing compared to her head, automatically Izzie touched the scab that was forming, there would be a scar. She knew that much. Standing up, when Geno had finally replied -- saying yes, they should meet up -- Izzie could feel the butterflies in her stomach, she felt sick from the nerves, she felt like crying too, for no apparent reason. "C'mon." The girl muttered to her dog, Jae, before attaching his lead, and leaving the house.
It didn't take long to get Geno's, he didn't live that far away from Isabelle's which had always been a good thing, but now all she really wanted was for the walk to be longer, so she could clear her head. Sadly it only took 10 minutes and before she knew it, her knuckles were hitting the wooden door before her.Â

ANÂ â Neither can live while the other survives- the story of Pezberry and Quick.
Quinn had been having a horrible day, it just, nothing was going right at all, and all she wanted to do was shut the world out again, but she couldn't do that. Since the night she had left, she had been trying to make herself better, but her therapist had told her that forcing herself to get better just isn't going to work. You can't force a piece of a puzzel into a slot that it just won't fit into, this was going to take time, it was going to be a process. As much as she hated that fact, Quinn needed to take her time and work on herself. What wasn't in the plan was two very bruised legs, after the fall she had taken this morning, she was sporting black and blue knees, as well as several bruises all over her legs and thighs, it literally looked like someone had whacked her with a paddle. Maybe wearing shorts wasn't the best idea, but she really didn't care how she looked. Sliding on a pair of shorts, converses, and a white band t-shirt that belonged to Artie. Her hair was down put in a braid that was hanging over her shoulder, it was messy, but she didn't care. Once she had loaded her Chomper up in her car, she started the fifteen minute drive to the park. Getting out might do her some good, seeing Puck might do her some good, she missed him, God did she miss him. Every day she regretted sending that text and she deserved everything he had said to her, but she was happy he was willing to see her, even if it was to see Chomper. Pulling into the parking lot, she picked up the towel on her passenger seat, patting her knuckles gently, cleaning the new open cuts. "C'mon buddy." She got out, opening the back door and letting her dog hop out. Chomper didn't need a leash, he always stayed at her side. "Come on, let's go find your dad." The dog followed her into the park, a few moments later, she saw Puck walking along looking for her. "Hey." She said out, waving slightly, watching Chomper happily scamper over and jump up on Puck.
Puck spaced a little while looking, so much to the point he wasn't really looking and more staring. He was nervous, again, she had been the only person to ever make him feel that emotion. It was for different reasons now, but that didn't change that she was. She was a piece of work that Quinn Fabray. Even with all this though she was still the girl before all this though. The very same one who fell a lot more than she really ever should, and he remembered their discussion earlier which made him remember another thing. He opened his truck again to reach in the cup he had in the holder. It felt like it had been months since he and Quinn were a thing, but even then he could recall her coffee order since she had gotten it for him not that long ago. Once he had gotten it from the truck and stood tall, looking back out toward the park. Then he was surprised by Chomper. His lifted the cup up to ensure the dog didn't knock it out of his hand, but his other one went to pet the dog, "Hey big guy." He greeted, one of the few smiles to grace his face as of late. He rubbed the back of his neck, giving him affection and then going in to give him a hug with the arm, "I missed you, too." He admitted, and just then his eyes caught sight of Quinn. His actions froze up a little because even if she was miserable and going through hell, she looked like the prettiest girl he'd ever seen. His smile changed, it went from wide to smaller, but it was still sincere. He stood taller and tried to get Chomper to stay on his four legs as Puck took a step toward her to be just a little closer, "Here." His voice said as his hand offered the cup of coffee from Starbucks. He didn't sound mad or rude, if anything it was a somewhat quiet and unsure.
Quinn was nervous to see him, even though he had been nice, she knew he wasn't happy with her, that he didn't agree with the break up, and there was apart of him that wanted to scream at her, but she knew he wouldn't. God, she really wished she hadn't have sent that text, but their relationship wasn't Santana and Rachel's, she wasn't gonna make up and break up with him a bunch of times, she loved him too much to put him through that. The chances of him taking her back after that were slim to none anyways, she had hurt him and walked away, even if it wasn't for malicious reasons, she knew he'd take it as being abandoned. Seeing him and the way he was with Chomper made her smile a little bit, as much as she was hurting right now, she wanted to be near him. "He missed you a lot." She whispered, brushing her bangs out of her eyes, looking at him, as he handed her the coffee cup. "Oh, thank you." She said softly. How could he still be so nice to her after that? It was beyond her.
Puck had his eyes look at the cup that he was presenting for her. In that moment he thought he had been dumb for bringing it, who was to say she wanted someone from him? No one. She had left. But then she said thank you, and so he felt a little less dumb. He didn't consider that perhaps she was saying it to be nice, he couldn't because it was her and he did know her. Even if she seemed to feel she didn't know herself or that she wasn't her. One of his shoulders shrugged while still looking at the cup rather than her, "I think it's the right one, but.. I still don't really know coffee."
Quinn looked up at him as he talked to her. "Oh, I'm sure it's fine, thank you." She breathed, taking a small sip if it, it was the right kind of coffee. She just didn't expect him to bring her anything, she didn't expect that. Not that Quinn didn't appreciate it, she really did, but he had been so mad at her. "It's the right one, thank you." Quinn repeated, running her fingers through her hair, Chomper had been looking up at both of them, waiting for the 'okay' to go explore. Looking down at the lovable ball of fur, the blonde nodded at him, and he started to walk around, sniffing different things. "I'm gonna sit for a second if you don't mind..." She asked, her voice meek, almost like a child.
Puck was about to go with Chomper to go play with him so that he would have way less of a chance of saying the wrong thing to Quinn to start a fight or make her feel worse. He didn't want her to feel bad, he hated making her feel bad even if it seemed otherwise lately. But then he noticed something about her hands that made him decide to not go play with the dog yet. Without thinking about it, which he should have, he grabbed her hand, having the top of her hand facing him. The pad of his thumb ran under the markings of the hand he was holding as he looked. Then he realized what he was doing and that he needed to speak since he had to look insane, "You really gotta stop hitting walls." He said. It sucks she had done that since she had promised him she wouldn't in return for him not going to Fight Club, which he had stayed true to thus far. Then again, he was going to let Rachel beat him up later. Perhaps promise were meant to be broken now.
Quinn didn't expect him to sit with her or anything, she knew he wanted to spend some time with Chomper, in some odd way, he was like their child. Just because she was having some issues, doesn't mean she was gonna keep him from something he obviously loved. The retriever had lived with him for the three months she wasn't there, and Chomper missed him too. Just as she went to turn away, she felt his hand take her and pull her back. Quinn didn't flinch or look scared, even know she knew Puck would never hurt her, he wasn't that type of person. "I know, but with everything, I guess I just couldn't help it. Before I could even think I had done it, I'm sorry." She knew she had promised him, now she had broken another promise to him, great. Quinn was on a roll this week, losing him, her best friend, the semi-innocence she had left, God, everything really did suck. "I guess pain is the only thing I can respond too right now."
Puck looked up at her, "You're the one that hurt yourself. You don't need to say sorry to me." He answered. With Puck, either someone was his or they weren't. He slowly dropped her hand, not wanting to toss it down or anything. It wasn't intentional, it was completely subconscious. He still didn't know what to say to help out, it wasn't like he had before. That was another thing that hadn't changed, Even though he felt like she was his, his mind told him she wasn't. His hands then went to sign, for no reason specifically. He hadn't done it over the last few days. He hadn't even really studied, but still he ended up saying, "I hope that changes though."
Quinn shrugged. "I kind of do have to apologize to you, I mean... I broke a promise, and I'm sorry." This was one of those times she wished she could hear, if only for just a few minutes, just for this one conversation. Just to hear his voice, to hear her own come to life in a way. Everything felt so surreal, but she knew it was real and it was killing her. When he dropped her hand, she almost started crying, she didn't want to let go yet, not ever. Keeping herself composed, she looked away for a second, biting down hard on her bottom lip. Bringing her attention back to him, she nodded when he signed. Bringing her own hands up to sign. "Me too." Pausing for a moment, a lump forming in her throat. "And I really hope you don't hate me forever." Letting her hands drop once more.
Puck had been watching her hands, his mind somehow remembering what he learned and had been able to understand it. He thought that he didn't read it right, but once he looked up at her face he knew he hadn't. His lips pursed, not because he did hate her and wanted to say he did, or because it was hard to say he didn't hate her. It was hard to really accept he had made her believe he hated her because he didn't. He didn't even remotely hate her. He was angry and he hurt, but hating her wasn't in the question, "I don't.." He started, but stopped, instead reached out to touch the side of her neck and his thumb giving a rub on the side of her face. He did it to ensure she was looking at him and said as well signed, "I don't hate you." It was hard to sign since hate was a two handed sign normally, but considering what they were talking about he had hoped his message was clear.
Quinn kept her eyes down after she said that, her entire body just hurt, all she wanted to do was curl up into a ball and cry. She loved him, she loved so much and she didn't know what to do. All she really wanted to do was tell him that she wanted to be with him and say how sorry sorry she was for everything she had put him through and bed for him back, but she knew that couldn't happen. Not yet anyway, there was too much hurt and she didn't know if he would want her back. When he said he didn't hate her, it took some of the pressure away, even if she didn't know if he even liked her though. "I'm glad you don't."
Puck had his hand brush hair behind her ear first before finally letting his hand move back to his side, "Like anyone ever could." His lips went in a small smile, it was more for her this time around. He wanted to say the words he had yet to say to her in response, that he loved her, but they were still trapped in his throat. His fear on telling people he loved them and them leaving was back again. He didn't want her to leave again.
Quinn half smiled at his response, he was still trying to make her feel better even after all the hurt and pain she had caused him. 'What have I done?' was all that kept running through the blondes head. How could she have done this to someone she loves so much? Breaking up with him was what she thought would be best, not for her, but for him. With all the issues she had, she just wanted him to be happy, but in turn she had made him miserable. Taking a step forward, she leaned her forehead on his shoulder for a moment, then pulled away. "I love you." She said and signed at the same time, her eyes falling for a moment.
Puck swallowed hard for the millionth time as Quinn confessed to him. There she was telling him she loved him and he loved her. He loved her so much. She had said she loved him so many times and every time he wanted to say it back yet wouldn't. His hands went over his eyes then ran them up, one of his hands running through his mohawk as his head turned. He wanted to cry again and he really hated that feeling. It was from frustration since the words were trapped in his throat and he was trying to shove them out. He had to, he needed to. If she left it would hurt but he loved him and her thinking he didn't.. it wasn't what she deserved. His head turned back to her, and just as the girl had in his life, she gave him a sense of courage. Her eyes had risen back from their momentary look down and he said it, "I love you, too." it was right then he felt his heart stop for a beat.
Quinn wanted to turn back time, not like the Cher song, but actually do it. She wanted to go back before she even left for California, she wanted to go back and say no to going, she wanted everything to just go back to normal, when they were happy and in love. They were still in love, but they were much less than happy now. She just felt the need to let him know that she still loved him, she didn't care if he said it back or not, she didn't deserve to hear it right now, but him knowing was what he needed to know. Sucking a breath in, the blonde looked up once again. God, did this just suck. But he said it back, he told her he loved her too, she never thought she was gonna have him say that again. "I wish I could go back." She whispered.
Puck licked his lips, unsure of what this even meant. He loved her and the look on her face showed she had really thought he didn't. He had said he loved her but that didn't mean any more sense to him what was going on. He was trying to though, even if it all angered him, "This isn't what you wanted?"
Quinn shook her head. "No, of course not. When I ended things, I really was doing it because I thought it was best for you." Her hands were moving much faster than her mouth, but it wasn't out of anger, more so out of desperation for him to understand. "I love you so much that I would deal with having to live without you so you could be happy, I don't think I deserve you." Swallowing the lump in her throat, the blonde looked up at him, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes. "I know you don't agree with it, but I really thought it was what would be best for you, I didn't want you to have to deal with this."
Puck wasn't a wizard with words. He had never been, nor ever would be, he was sure of it. That didn't mean he wouldn't give attempts though, normally he didn't, but he continually bettered himself for Quinn. Even if it didn't seem like it to her. He had his head ducked a little to be eye level with Quinn, even though she wouldn't really eye contact with him in order to understand his word, he did it anyway, "I would do anything if it meant I got to have you around. Anything. And I can't be happy, really happy, if you're not there with me. Being without you actually made life suck so bad. Being with you during all of this stuff didn't do that. You're good, Quinn."
Quinn looked at him, scared as to what his reaction would be. She knew he didn't want to have some sort of back and fourth relationship where they never just settled and got things together for themselves. As much as she loved both Rachel and Santana, that was the kind of relationship they had, and it wasn't exactly the healthiest, which was why Quinn didn't want to put him through that, ever. "I never ever wanted to hurt you, Puck. I would never just break up with you for no reason, I really thought it would be whats better for you, I didn't think I would be good for you..." She trailed off, taking in a small breath. "I never wanted to hurt you because I love you and I miss you so much."
Puck bit the inside of his lower lip a little, scanning over Quinn's face and seeing the various emotions going on. None of which were ones she needed to be feeling, "If you don't wanna hurt me, you're gonna have to stop thinking you're not good for me and just.. don't go anywhere. You're what's best for me, anyone can see it, and you need to be one of them. You gotta focus on you, I get that, but I don't get why I can't be there with you when you do."
Quinn let out a breath, she understood where he was coming from, he wanted to be with her no matter what, he had always been there for her. "I just, I didn't want you to lose out on your life because I have issues, I got worried that you were gonna regret being with me because I was such an issue, I didn't want to trap and make you feel like you have to stay and I am not saying you did anything to make me think that, because you didn't, you make me feel loved. I just want you to have everything that you deserve and I thought that you deserved someone so much better than me. Especially with how I am right now."
Puck was at a loss for words. He was there in a dog park with Quinn, her coffee cup set on the bench near them, in the middle of the day and they were having this kind of talk. Rachel had told him she needed to know she was what's good for him. Santana had done the same in her own way. He didn't know how to make her see that but his own mind went to a memory. One that seemed like it was from a whole other life time now but it had helped them then, perhaps it could do the same now. So he went right in for a kiss. It wasn't aggressive or anything, it was rather similar to the first one he had given her. The one he was remembering. Even with things so different he was about to conjure up the emotions that were felt from the day they first met. It was that easy with her. Maybe it wouldn't prove a thing, maybe it would, but regardless it felt good to be kissing her. For all he knew, it would be the last time he ever would.
Quinn looked at him, she was wondering what he was thinking, she wished she could read peoples minds sometimes, like Kelly on Misfits. He was was usually pretty good at telling her what he was thinking, but lately he had been keeping things from her about how he felt, and that wasn't what she wanted, not for him. A relationship was about give and take, he could do all the giving and she wasn't gonna do all the taking. Just as much as he wanted to be there for her, she wanted to be there for him. She was about to say something when he leaned in, his lips were now on hers, at first it shocked her a little bit, it didn't scare her, she just hadn't expected it. It didn't take her long before her hand was resting on his neck gently, and her lips pressed back against his. The kiss reminded her of the first time they had kissed, it was simple and sweet, but it had a certain message behind it. She knew he only wanted her, and she only wanted him. A moment later, she pulled out of the kiss, leaning her forehead to his.
Puck didn't open his eyes just yet, he didn't want to see if her face looked regretful or something. He knew he was pulling her back to him, he was trying to do it. He was trying to get her to see the light and the error of her thoughts, not because she felt bad, but because she had seen it wrong. He had never been able to kiss anyone like he had with her, nor could anyone kiss him like that. He had never met someone who was like her and her thinking she was bad for him wasn't right. It was the opposite. He opened he eyes now, meeting with hers, and he spoke, "You do a lot of good for me. You're good enough, you're nice enough, you love me enough, you're funny enough, dorky enough, everything enough. Every day with you makes me better." His hands had found her face, "And I need you to trust me on that."
Quinn was scared, she was so scared, she was scared of her feelings for Puck, she loved him so much and the thought of not being with him made this hole in her chest, these past couple of days without him had been absolute torture, she literally felt like she didn't have a heart anymore. Without him, she felt lost, more lost than she had ever felt before. She was scared to not be with him, Quinn had regretting her decision to break up with him since the moment she had sent that text. Pulling back a little, she concentrated on him, taking in every word he had said, trying to get into her head that she was more than enough for him, that she was everything he wanted. Nodding, she didn't say anything, instead she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him close to her, burying her face into his neck.
Puck had one arm wrapped around Quinn's waist and the other one stayed unwrapped so his hand could be against the back of her head. His eyes closed and he took a breath in, able to take in the smell and feel of her again. It was insane how good a hug freaking felt. But it did, it felt right. It felt like everything he had been missing and more. He kissed the side of her head, not even needing to open his eyes to see the location because he knew her still. She was still his girl to him, his mind had been telling him she wasn't, but his heart knew she was. His eyes opened after a moment and caught sight of Chomper sitting behind Quinn, looking up at them with his mouth open and panting. He smiled a little and slowly pulled back from their embrace, "We've got company." He said since he didn't want to take his hands off her at the moment, which meant his eyes and head motioned so Quinn would look behind to see the dog.
Quinn stayed in the hug, her arms wrapped around him, holding onto him for dear life. This had been what was missing, him, he was the missing piece that she had been trying to fill with things that just wouldn't fit. They had a long road ahead of them, filled with bumps and bruises alone the way, but he wanted to help her and be with her through it all. Why make them only all the more miserable when they both wanted to be together. It just wasn't worth it anymore, being away from him and trying to stay away was just too much work. Her heart belonged to him and trying to take that away just seemed wrong. Feeling him shift, she looked up to see him nodding over to behind her, turning slightly, a smile came to her face seeing Chomper sitting there, with a happy look on his face. "Come here, buddy." She said, putting her hand down, he ran over and settled under it. She patted his head, turning her attention back to Puck. "Will you forgive me for being dumb and take me back, please?" She asked with a hopeful tone.
Puck was not use to someone asking to stay, not after they were gone. It was always him asking them to, hoping they would. Wanting them to say they would. Having her ask him made him unsure what to say, not because he didn't want though, "Just don't leave again, okay? No matter what."
Quinn knew she had made a mistake, it wasn't because she meant to, she wanted to be with him, but she had thought she was doing what was best. Quinn knew now that, that was extremely wrong. She nodded, looking up at him, nipping at her bottom lip gently. "I won't, I promise." She whispered, looking up at him.
Puck had his child-like mentality when it came to things like this. It was why he had somewhat accepted his father back so easily when he came during Puck's a colleges years and didn't hang Rachel leaving over her head much. He believed there was good in the world, as long as there was something good to believe in. Things like Rachel and Quinn and Marley and Kurt. He smiled and went to kiss her cheek, "I love you." He said, sure to be far enough so her eyes would see he spoke. After that he took a step past her, and called Chomper's name to go play with him finally.
"So, he continued to ignore her speaking, instead focusing all his intelligence into one common goal: had he ever slept with her?" hahahahahahaha... ='D I love you soo much right now. Never stop writting.
hahahahahah, oh god, I forgot about that line! I should probably reread that all before posting the next chapter.... (I am such a failer). Thank you though! I shall continue to write, I shall!
âYou know,â he muttered after a moment, âI knew a girl from the Sand once.â
âOh?â He could see her shoulders tense. Some ANBU were no good at this emotionless shit.
âShe was a very good friend of mine- saved my life a handful of times.â
There was a pause when he didnât continue, and so, after a second she surprised him with a prompt. âYeah?â

I love player!Shikamaru
hahaha, me too. But in that story he's actually not a player, but any shot. (a lot of people assumed that in the reviews though, so nbd). He's only slept with a handful of people, but all the relationships are easy and casual. He doesn't 'woo' his women, and when he needs to relieve something, he does. He was surprised when he saw Temari because he usually remembers the women to some extent at least. And the manner he saw her in was sexual. So it took a day or so, but I didn't mean it in that he has slept with so many people he can't remember them all.Â

Shikamaru smiled up as Ino peered over him. âAs long as the gossip among the nurses is positive, then who am I to get mad?â
âAt least someone understands,â she muttered, holding out her hand to help him up. The sun was beginning to fall on the horizon; they would be leaving soon. âBut theyâre not always good things.â
He shrugged, not really caring either way. There werenât that many people that could speak from experience. Certainly few with direct contact to Ino.
Okay! (i'll pm you). but now that ive found you... can i ask when u plan on updating your other story?
Come Back When You Can? or TAGAMT?Â
Either way, eventually. TAGAMT not until I get inspired, because that one is only about inspiration, and Come Back... soon. I'm working on the next few chapters but haven't finished anything yet, and then beta-ing might take a while... I don't know. But definitely before thanksgiving!
