Ya Old Dubrovnik

By reaching this city we got to the southern most destination of our road trip. We had heard that southern Croatia was more expensive than Iceland O: . We braced ourselves for the costs but the blow to our budget never really came. Sure, Dubrovnik was more pricey but it was doable financially. We stayed in a guesthouse just 10 mins south of the city center and just drove into the city and parked by some apartment buildings to avoid the cost of parking. Where there’s a will to save there’s a way haha. We explored the Old Town which was by far the most interesting and immersed ourselves in the masses of tourists. Here they offered tours along the wall surrounding old Dubrovnik and tours to some place where part of Game of Thrones was filmed. The Old Town was beautiful for a city and we learned that it has a rich history. 

Maddy and I returned the second day and befriended some colourful birds. We also discovered a cafe just beyond the city walls ..and when it started raining we sipped our coffee under Maddy’s umbrella and watched the waves crashing into the rocks below us. We also came across some interesting gems such as the lady fountain you can see in the picture ↑.
