Shade let out a small hiss from the back of his throat as the girl claimed the goggles were hers.

“They’re mine.”

His eyes darted down to the girls hand, and with lighting speed he snatched the robot from her. 

“This is mine too.”

He let out another hiss as he drew the items closer to his chest.

They were his. It was all his.

“So, you’re like an inventor then?” It was hard not to get too distracted from the task at hand, but how could he not be interested? “Is it hard? Why animals? Do you use them for something or is it for fun- ”

Once upon a time there was a city of great technological advancements. The people of the city lived comfortably, having to worry about very little. 

Except the forest.

For near said city was a very big, and very dark forest. Rumors circulated around the forest. Stories of people going in and never coming out. Stories from young children who had wandered in about a man in black who had walked them back to the edge of the forest.

Rumors of might vicious beasts.

And the man in black.

There were many rumors and stories about who the man in black was, who he is.

Once upon a time there was a house on a hill.

It was old, and it was dirty, and no one had lived in it for a long time.

The gates that were once chained were rusted, the chain long since fallen off due to age. What was once a garden was a weed filled mess. What was once a beautiful home was a ghost house.

No one went there, for stories and rumors circulated.

A murderer lives there.

A monster that’ll eat your brains lives there.

A ghost that’ll steal your body haunts it.

No one ever visits the abandoned house on the hill.

He worried about the day when someone did visit. What would happen?

Oh, but he was oh so lonely.

I let out an annoyed huff as I pulled himself u another ledge. For a cave system this place has more ledges than he expected. 

I sat down on the ground and leaned against the wall to catch my breath. How long has I been climbing for? An hour? Two hours? I couldn’t tell, there were so many ups and downs in this place. 

But a lot of treasure, so I supposed it was worth it. 

That’s when my eyes caught the sight of pink. 

No way. There is no way. It can’t be her. It is her. Cogs. What was she doing in a cave system. What was she doing in this particular cave system.

Shade rolled his eyes when Cogs let out a snore. He had carried her on his back with her arms limp over his shoulder.

Lord this girl was light. When was the last time she actually had a meal? Knowing her she probably only had sandwiches.
