Yes, I’ve thought about this a lot so here it is!

As for Fi’s cape, since she wears it so often for so long (she’s been wearing it for literal centuries), a fair amount of her magic is infused into the cape so she can manipulate with better dexterity than any other cloth. Fi also has an emotional attachment to the cape, since it was the first thing Ghirahim ever gave her. She doesn’t know this, but Ghirahim had the cape custom made for her, so that element also helps with how easy it is for Fi to manipulate it. Fi can do things she can’t do with any other cloth like write while wearing the cape, but her handwriting is barely legible.

In terms of material close to Fi’s body composition, it works along the lines of an organ transplant. The closer the “genetic material” is to Fi, the less likely her body will reject it (except Fi’s rejection of prosthetic arms isn’t nearly as bad as irl immune responses since they only just fall off). Fi can manipulate her prosthetic arms far better than her cape, so when it comes to finer movements like writing her handwriting is actually legible. The prosthetic arms require less magic from her in order to move, so for a while Fi kept inputting too much magic into her new arms and kept breaking things. I drew a comic about this.

I was using a white Sakura Pen-touch Paint Marker I got from the Michael’s store, but sadly that marker exploded halfway this month. Woops!

Otherwise, I’ve been using a white Gelly Roll Gel Pen for my white dots and highlights. I find they work pretty well on toned sketch paper and over certain colors.

I’M GONNA GO WITH SKRILL he’s like 3′ and lethal amounts of adorable. here we go

he’s an avali, an alien race from the starbound universe (modded XD;;) that due to being unable to survive outside their homeworld without cybernetics or survival gear is rarely seen. despite that, some of them do spread out across the universe, and skeri is one of them! he moved to earth to become a protector, and gained the nickname “skrillex” while at the academy.

he’s sort of the protagonist of the rp group– he was there when earth was destroyed and managed to escape, hes the one that went to the outpost and met esther & agreed to help stop the ruin, etc. basically a summary of the starbound plot is that this ancient tentacle horror called the Ruin was sealed away eons ago but woke back up and destroyed earth, which is not great for the people who live there lmao

so skrillex managed to escape, and then crash-landed on another planet where he was found by @jorbs-palace‘s character bard who listened to his story and agreed to help him find out more about what happened. while at the outpost they picked up two others who wanted to help, and he ended up being elected captain of their group, the Delta Assault Brigade! …….or dab. their name is dab.

thanks to being a protagonist skrill is very like. he’s a do-good type of person, very optimistic, believes he can do anything, etc etc. he’s sort of The Galaxy’s Last Hope despite being a very tiny space velociraptor, and he intends to live up to that. also his thighs get more and more ridiculous the more we draw him, i am So Sorry

he has a very nonsensical sense of humour and cracks up at pretty much anything, and often goes off into long rambles while doing stuff only to forget partway through what he’s saying so it just goes off-rails. skrill also isnt a very capable fighter BUT is good at like, organizing? like he makes plans and stuff, and charts out Where To Go and that sort of thing. because he’s the captain :D

(the origin behind that ooc is that while playing starbound i felt extremely useless bc it was my first time playing while everyone else had experience and i fared Very poorly against the erchius horror, so i got elected captain so i felt like i was Doing Something and so i ended up being the person everyone went to for “so what do we do next” ehehe)

he can play several instruments with varying degrees of quality, but he mostly likes singing

and he is VERY gay. like, he ends up having a crush on a ~mysterious ninja~ that keeps saving him when hes in danger and it ends up being bard in disguise, and then they end up dating and its really cute

I FRICKEN... LOVE CHARLIE... she’s my D&D character in the campaign @openlyeight is running! she’s a halfling wild magic sorcerer that just kinda does whatever seems fun to her, and likes to challenge herself by pulling off risky heists-- she used to be a thief before getting picked up by the party, and she still lapses into old habits now and then. her thief’s tools have gotten quite a lot of use asdhfsdkjfghfd

charlie’s chaotic good, and ended up being the team’s mascot and one of the only reasons why everyone stuck together. despite her thievery and being very loud, she’s kind-hearted and is very defense of people trying to mess with the rest of her party, especially sieron. also the paladin kinda adopted her? and then asked her to burn down a library because the librarian was being racist. it was awesome tbh

charlie doesnt talk much about what situation she was in before meeting the party, but there’s a few things theyve learned about her: she used to work for the syndicate, a branch of the cult of the god-king that is planning to resurrect a false god of necromancy and which has some sort of connection to sieron that no one is happy about (charlie had no idea at the time and jumped ship at the nearest opportunity), and shes related to chase wickfield, a famous dragon researcher and who was also the member of her family she was closest to.

she also may have accidentally killed them in a wild magic surge but charlie doesnt know for sure and my DM keeps being ominous about it

First of all same, but second your art is great! Tumblr isn’t a amazing platform for original art (or not already popular artists in general). My works on tumblr get around 5 notes while the same piece on instagram gets over 30 on average. Don’t get discouraged! Even if you don’t have a large audience the one you have loves your work! Keep at it, I believe in you and love seeing you create. (Also I miss rping w/ you too!)

some of it is im not really sure where else to put my art? like i stopped using dA bc i didnt get much notice there either and i felt weird posting stuff there bc its got a totally different feel, and i stopped using weasyl after Some Shit Happened. i have an art twitter that i crosspost to but that gets even less notice.
