work chronicles // the micro-agression bible: While I seat a white family their toddler, being held by the mother, points at me and repeats “black eyes”, and after an uncomfortable laugh from the parents they try to convince her they’re more brown (may not be a conscious aggression but there’s something undeniably creepy about a little white girl chanting “black eyes” at you). My white co-worker, a new guy, since seeing me smoke a blunt on my break and being very entertained by my reply of “you know what it is” has started talking in a “blacker” accent to flirt with me, peppering in “you know what it is”, while trying to act cool and nonchalant. 

you know you’re mixed when almost every single person I meet asks me “what’s your heritage” “where are you from” “what do your parents look like” “whats your race” lmaooooooo you tell me fam! 💀
