Bride Tribe: Thelma
So the story goes, I walked into one of my college classes, a wee freshman lass, wearing ridiculous shoes and a plaid shirt. (I'm sure I was wearing pants, also, but they're not important, as goes with pants)
This freckle red headed dame said, "I like your plaid."
And I replied (because I can't just say thank you): "thanks. It's a mans shirt, because I need more shirt to cover all of this" *I then proceeded to shake my hands around the outline of my body*
I didn't know at that moment that she loved the stage (probably more than I do, because her mother raised her properly) and I didn't know we shared a love for cows. I knew that she was brilliant, and I wanted to keep her as one of those "college friends you make for life" people.
Thelma,
You were the dynamic match to a duo I didn't even realize I was missing out on. We've bonded over so many things, it's so hard to choose a few memories. Rodeos, State Fairs, theatre, milkshakes (yes. Milkshakes gets it own category)
I am so proud of you for taking this year by the horns and making it your year. And somehow I'm the midst of chaos, and change, you are always there for me.
You have taught me and encouraged me to embrace my curves, and my weird theatre-ness in every aspect of my life. Thank you.
My darling, I will wear my something blue so proudly. Although you won't be in the sand (and really lucky you because sand is weird and kind of gross) I know you're with me in spirit.
I love you, madly, Thelma.
