Donnie had honestly been trying to keep up with getting online. Actually interacting outside of his family would help his mood, Splinter had insisted, and his brothers had encouraged him, saying that being stuck in his room all day wasn't good for him.
Which it wasn't.
But it wasn't as if he could get out of his room on his own. He still needed help getting in and out of the wheelchair, and the lair hadn't quite gotten all the modifications it needed to let him move around more freely (though Casey and Raph were working on it).
So he loaded up his laptop, scowling without really meaning to, and pulled up a chat window.

☠ Another evening, another free time he needed to spend on making homework. Great! Like those teachers have nothing else to do than to give homework to the students. You wanna know what the worst part was? He HAD to do it! Otherwise he needed to do his year over again....This part wasn’t that bad but...What his father had said....He needed to quit hockey if he didn’t pass?! Like damn!
He took a deep breath, struggling with his thoughts while he made his way home. How was he planning to get all this work done in time?
Not looking at his surroundings, he suddenly felt a bump against his body, followed hy the sound of something...Or someone falling on the ground. He snapped out of the thoughts he had and looked at the ground. Damn! He let a woman fall on the ground! Yeah, good job Casey Jones! Like very great!
He kneeled in front of her, holding his hand out towards her as a gesture to pull her up again.
“I’m sorry....I guess I kinda was....With my thoughts somewhere else...Are ya okay?”
Since his injury, Donnie had spent very little time on the forums he usually frequented. He'd had a few minutes to put up a message that he was going to be away for a bit... his excuse being he'd been in an accident and was spending some time in the hospital. Which wasn't entirely true, but it wasn’t entirely false either, as he was technically on medical bedrest in the medical area of the lab until his brothers had moved him to his room once the prosthetic was in place on his shell.
And he felt awful. He couldn't leave his room without help- couldn't even get out of bed, really. Reaching his laptop on the bedside table was a stretch enough, but he did it without needing to call for help, and frowned a little as he logged on. There were, of course, answers to his post: "OMG ARE YOU OKAY," "What happened???," "Do you need any help?" and more all popped up in his notifications. He saw one from a friend he'd made online several months before, and he opted to pull up a chat window instead. He'd answer the others later.
