You know what's the saddest thing about the Seekers? Is that it didn't used to be like this. But after Ameridan got sealed off, it all when to shit. "If Cassandra is in the party, she asks how the leader of the Seekers could be a mage. Ameridan explains that most Inquisitors were never Seekers and they used to include mages in their ranks for the purpose of hunting demons and maleficarum."
" If Cassandra had discovered the truth about the Seekers and the Rite of Tranquility, Ameridan reveals that he opposed the wide-spread use of Tranquility out of fear that it would lead to abuse and his compatriots promised to prevent that from happening. Nevertheless, in contemporary times it has been used as a means to control mages deemed dangerous and sometimes as a punitive measure." If only Ameridan was still there when this all went down....
I think really think that Trespasser impresses upon this point better, but really, both Ameridan’s Inquisition and the Herald’s Inquisition is fated to become corrupt (not that an Inqusition could really be the force of revolution, but again that wasn’t the Herald’s purpose), and it;s even more tragic that Ameridan was a pivotal figure in Dalish history, who had power and influence and relationship with Emperor Drakon, that maybe if he hadn’t gone dragon hunting, the Dalish might still have the Dales too.
But the current Seekers in Dragon Age? Kill it and never bring it back- the organization can never be what it used to be.
