ever-changing story
so most of you know our story. how god used my troubled past to help those in need and finally led me to working with at risk youth and law enforcement. well god is adding more to our story. ( I say our story because my life is his. not mine I have given my life to god so saying my story feels wrong to me ) during RCIA I decided to attend the chrism mass and although it was beautiful and amazing and spectacular god wanted to show me one little thing in particular. AND I MISSED IT! I BLOODY MISSED IT! after it was all over I was talking to our RCIA leader in the rear of the church and she introduced me to this cute little blonde girl ( I have a thing for blondes ) as the parish youth minister. we talked a little bit and after mentioning that the youth group would be heading to 9 Irish brothers ( my favorite restaurant ) she invited me to tag along. but I refused! why did I refuse!?!? am I really that oblivious?!?! maybe I am. or maybe god didn't want me to go there then. maybe he wanted me to wait till now to notice so I could see how amazing he is and how everything he does is for a reason. but fast forward a few months and father dan is talking about some of our youth students heading off to college. god had replaced in me the desire to help the youth at my own parish as well as in the troubled neighborhoods of my city. i spent the next few days attempting to find a number for the church youth ministries with no luck. so i gave up. again... well i let myself get busy and let my life fall apart. my rent was $100 more then i expected and i failed to go to church for a month maybe more but god hadn't forgotten me. on Thursday i left for the payday loan place to get money so i could pay my rent when it hit me. literally a white suburban truck T boned my little Honda. glass everywhere, airbags deployed. horrible. so i called my parents who had a spare car i could use. but wouldn't be able to drop it off to me till Saturday and i called my boss to take personal time till i had a car... this morning after getting the car. i decided to go to mass. it was the same beautiful everything i remember but at the end of the mass father dan made an announcement “ we are seeking folks willing to become catechists ( teacher of religious study's ) for our youth ministries. SO I FINALLY SIGNED UP.
everything that happens is because god wills it to happen.

Without the desire to grow in our faith, attending church is merely an act. Without the desire to grow in virtue, humility is only an act.

Great is the lowliest of us. Who can honestly say they are radically striving for lowliness in their lives?
