BoRhap genuinely helped my depression, and rediscovering Queen’s music album by album (I have spent a silly amount on vinyl, and I regret NOTHING), I have felt better this year than I have in ages. yeah we’re all good atm - i live in brisbane, out of the worst fire danger areas. There’s quite a lot of bushland around us so we’re like on alert, but this area never really has a problem with bushfires (idk if its because bris has a better back burning system or its because of the species of trees we have here or just our general climate being so humid or what but it’s always worse down south)
I do have some extended fam further south, some of them are living in affected areas, though seem to be out of danger at least for now, one of my grandmas newphews (i think) and his son are waterbombing and one of my mum’s cousins (?? idk its hard to keep track of how everyone is related) works with the fire department in her hometown.
She’s been posting updates of all the donations people have been bringing in and said they’ve had to start turning things away because they literally don’t have anywhere to put it all anymore, which is really incredible.
