------
Scar flops back into his chair with a sigh of relief. Still too buzzing with energy to lay down, but his body lagging behind his mind in willingness to continue his pacing and prancing around his apartment. At least he'd gotten his figurines all arranged up on his shelf already. Little Neit, flanked by his supportive friends, little Ari and little Galvexy! All cozy together up on Scar's shelf, to watch over his room. But that's back in Scar's bedroom, not the living room he's in now.
Grian peers at Scar from inside the couch nest, rainbow-hued and mask-free. Both of them just themselves now.
This is comfortable. This new-old feeling between them. Nothing has changed, in the four days since they talked, about how they feel. Unable to hold all of his sappy gooeyness inside his chest, Scar chirps mate at Grian. Now in his usual, wonky accent. Being able to do those sounds perfectly was a fun part of being a cat. Catboy? Catguy. Scar has spoken. Catguy it is.
And Catguy will return! Eventually. When Vex figures out how. Which he will.
But for now, Scar is plain Scar, with his plain familiar chirps. Sounds that still make Grian puff out his feathers, all pretty and floofy. Scar twists in place in delight, before resuming his rolling back and forth.
He swings by the coffee machine, nabbing Grian a fresh, steaming mug.
"Here you are, my sweet mate." Beaming, Scar hands the mug over. Gets Grian all flustered, feathers poofing and wings threatening to spread. Reading all those avian books was so worth it. The long weeks of struggling through words, memorizing behaviors and rituals.
Scar had gone into his research mostly looking to be a better friend, more thoughtful to Grian's needs- But this is certainly a bonus, getting to fluster him so easily and so deeply.
"You can't keep getting away with this." Grian mutters, sipping his coffee.
"But what if I want to? What if I want to spoil my pretty lovely wonderful mate?" Scar grins broadly at Grian.
"...I'm going to get the gag-" Grian makes no move to stand.
"You like it, my pretty." Scar coos, taking one of Grian's hands in his.
"And you like the gag. Your point?" Grian tugs Scar closer, forcing him to lean forward. Warm lips to the back of Scar's hand.
A knock on the door interrupts Scar before he can say anything. Lizzie! That's how Lizzie knocks.
"Hey guys. I saw you were in, and wanted to ask if we want to do girls' night tonight?" She's already let herself in, the knock just to let them know it's her.
"Lizzie! Just the lady I love to see!" Scar heads over to bump into her affectionately.
"Oh? Where's it hurt?" Lizzie teases.
"Everywhere!" Scar giggles. "But no, no injuries, pinky promise."
"He is actually fine." Grian grumbles. "Just having his fun making me all flustered."
"He agreed to be my mate, Lizzie!" Scar bounces in place, chirping the word at her regardless of if she knows it.
"Oh, so you two finally got your act together? Congratulations! I'm going to make so much off of this, thanks." Lizzie ruffles Scar's hair, finishing with good scalp nail-scritches.
"Hey!" Grian protests. "Were you guys betting on us? Wait. Did everyone know?"
"Yep! Sure did!" Lizzie teases. "So spill, how did it happen?" Grian just groans, tugging his hand out of Scar's to bury his face in, hiding behind not just his headwings but his flight wings too.
"Now that sounds like the kind of gossip to save for a girls' night." Scar winks at her.
"Girls' night can start now! Tell me!" Lizzie play-protests.
"Girls' night needs alcohol." Scar declares, wheeling over to his kitchen. He may have helped himself to a few bottles from Vex's pool bar.
"That kind of a story, is it?" Lizzie vaguely drifts along after him.
"Every story is enhanced by a little tongue-loosener!" Scar beams at her, pulling out the bottles. "Where we setting up?"
"Living room?" Lizzie suggests, eyeing the bottles with a raised eyebrow. "Those are rather fancy lookin'. Where'd ya get them?"
"Stole 'em." Scar snickers.
"It's not stealing if they let you take it!" Grian calls out from the other room.
"Shall we?" Lizzie motions over, holding their glasses.
"One second. Be right there." Scar promises, digging into his fridge. They're gonna need snacks.
He’d half expected her to steal them all away to her place, but it’s nice to spend the time here, too. Not as spacious, not as fancy. But his own cozy little home.
Hm. Whole quail can be a snack, right? Maybe with some- Wow, still more sushi? Wonder who ordered so much of it, shame on them.
And the lobster and oh! The seedy balls! Grian will be happy about those!
Loading his lap full, and adding appropriate eating tools, Scar wheels himself back into the livingroom. Where Lizzie has joined Grian in the nest, drinks already poured.
"I come bearing snacks!" He announces, working to unload his lap onto the tiny couch table that quickly becomes overflowing.
"Snacks!" Lizzie cheers. "Ooh, fancy snacks. Did you steal these too, sir?"
"Yep!" Lap cleared, Scar heaves himself up into the warm softs of the nest, readily tangling his limbs with both Lizzie and Grian. Grian, who's muttering something about a 'bad influence' under his breath, not quite quietly enough to go unheard, even without kitty ears.
Once Scar's all tangled up, Lizzie hands him his drink.
"Alright. We've got snacks, we've got drinks. Girls' night has officially begun! So spill. How did you two." She motions her glass between him and Grian. "Become an item?"
Scar takes a swig of his drink. Nice and strong, the kind of thing reserved for a stretch of multiple off-duty days. Nothing of the named sort of fancy, just some citrus vodka into some juice. Cranberry limeade, of a sort.
"Well, there was a fight-"
"That's an awful place to start!" Grian protests.
"But it was the fight that let me tell you I know about courting. That I wasn't blind to what you've been doing for years!" Scar protests right back at him.
"I think I should be offended if he thought you were that blind-" Lizzie considers.
"Don't worry, crushes make people stupid." Scar assures her.
"True, true, that they do." A sage nod from Lizzie.
"I thought he didn't know about courting!" Grian cries.
"Yep, I definitely for sure didn't figure out anything about the wing spreading or the singing or the nesting or the preening or the chirpsies. Nothing to see there. And nothin' about bringing you food either. Or those daredevil stun-" Scar could go on and on, aside from the mild impediment of Grian's pillow, now mildly smothering him.
"Isn't that taught in school? In the cultures and traditions part of social studies?" Lizzie wonders. "That taught me enough to recognize the basics, at least."
"School. School? Are you seriously going to look me in the eye and tell me to expect this guy to retain a single thing from school?" Grian drops his pillow in his incredulity, allowing Scar to do exciting things like breathe, and sit up. "Have you met him?"
"You might have a point there." Lizzie concedes.
"I remember tons of stuff! Like how to get dodgeballs stuck in the gym ceiling, and which teachers will open doors for a sheepish smile." Scar protests.
"But not how to tell if your best buddy has an itty bitty crush on you." Lizzie teases. "So that was that? You told him you knew he'd been courting you and then you two decided to be together?"
"I told him for the dozenth time and this time he actually listened!" Scar corrects cheerfully.
"How was I supposed to know you were serious!"
"What else would I be?!" Scar's turn to be offended.
"You, you goofball." Grian lightly bonks him with a wing.
"I am me! I can be serious me!" Snapping at the wing, Scar would have spilled his drink had Lizzie not caught his arm in time. "Thank you, my cherry blossom princess!" He plants a big smooch on her cheek, enjoying the scent wafting up from the blossoms speckling her head. All natural, they grow on her. Make her always smell of sweet cherry blossoms.
Grian steals a sip from Scar’s drink. “You spend too much time as serious you.”
"Oh this is wonderful. Joel owes me so much money now." Lizzie giggles.
“Like that means anything.” Grian snorts. “You’ve got Joel wrapped around your little finger as much as this guy’s got-"
“Wow look at these sesame balls!” Scar shouts, shoving one directly into Grian’s mouth.
"Got who?" Lizzie asks. "Who have you got wrapped around your finger this time, Scar?"
“It’s nothing-” Scar reflexively demurs. Where’s his- Right, still in his hand. A sip buys him time to think about his answer.
Unfortunately, this also gives Grian time to snag the chain around Scar’s neck, tugging until Vex’s pendant slips free from under Scar’s shirt. “Get a load of this!”
"What exactly am I looking at? Besides a very pretty pendant, of course." Leaning in, Lizzie studies the pendant with a raised eyebrow.
“A wing gift.” Grian’s scandalized whisper, accompanied by a single beat of his wings.
"A wing? This is from a wing?"
Scar's mouth has gone dry, but Grian takes his drink before he can gulp the rest of it down. Instead, Scar curls his hand over the pendant. "Yes." Scar confirms.
"Whose wing is it from? I can only think of one person with wings that color, and I'm fairly certain his don't have scales." Instead of answering Lizzie, Scar snatches his drink back from Grian and knocks the whole thing back in one go. He has the feeling he's gonna need it.
"They don't. But they can be shattered. Or, they could." Scar pauses to breathe alcohol fumes directly into Grian's face as revenge. "I'm not sure they can anymore."
"That's a shard of Vex's wing? He set that in a pendant for you?" A long, low, impressed whistle.
Grian chatters irritably and uses his headwings to fan fresh air toward his face.
"He did." A hint of excitement creeps back into Scar's voice. "He's- You're okay with that?" Scar belatedly realizes Lizzie is taking this remarkably well.
"I've... met him. Doc introduced us when we both ended up at his at the same time by chance." There's definitely more to that story that she isn't saying, but Scar isn't one to pry into a lady's secrets. Not when she does him the same kindness in return.
"What do you- think of him?" Scar can't hide the hitch of hesitation in his voice. The want for her to approve, even though he knows he doesn't need anyone's approval for this. Even though he knows people shouldn't approve of this.
"He's a silly little bugger, but from what I've seen you could do worse. Way worse." Lizzie's words sound a lot like approval. Much to Grian's disapproval, the pretty bird groaning and slumping back in the nest.
"Who, who would be worse?" Grian bemoans. "Aside from Joel, of course." He snips, almost playful.
"So you're- you're okay with this? With me seeing him?" Scar can't help but hope. She's given every indication she is, but he needs to hear those words. Have that confirmation.
Lizzie bonks Grian right on the head, before turning back to Scar. "Of course I am. I'm sure you've thought about this plenty, hun. If you think he'll treat you right, then I'm behind you all the way." She considers. "And in front of you with a mace if he doesn't." A sharp nod.
"Thank you." Scar can feel himself melting, so he does that all over Lizzie, covering her in kisses. "Thank you thank you thank you-"
"No problem." Lizzie's laugh rings out sweet as her scent. "Just another day in the life of being the best."
"The best!" Scar cheers, redoubling his smooch efforts.
Grian attempts to smother himself with a pillow.
"I feel all silly now, for gettin' all worked up and all drunk." Scar giggles. He's not drunk-drunk, but definitely tipsy. Downing the whole drink on an empty tummy has fuzzed the edges of the room.
"Girls' night is for getting silly!" Lizzie kneads into his back. "What was it you said about crushes making people dumb~?" She teases.
"I am silly. Silly silly me." Gazing up at Lizzie, Scar giggles. She really is the best.
"So, was that whole shoppin' bag gifts from him?" Lizzie tips her head. "Is he spoiling our Scar good?"
"Yes! He let me go shopping at his!" Scar almost bounces on her lap, but his legs aren't quite having the movements, turning it more into a humping motion.
“How thoughtful. Get anything good?” Lizzie leans in, hand resting lightly on Scar’s hip.
"Lots of things! I got to shop in his closet and my kitchen and his bathroom. Took his potions. And his toys. And he got lots of fancy clothes for me!" Scar could go for showing Lizzie those toys. Let her explore them. He can be her show model-
"Robbed him blind, huh? Hell yeah." Lizzie high fives Scar enthusiastically.
"Gri~an?" Scar bats his eyelashes toward the lump of Grian. Getting up to get things sounds hard, sitting here while they're brought to him so much easier.
"What." The pesky bird snaps.
"Would you be the bestest mate in all of ever, and go fetch us my new toys?" Scar bats his softest, wettest puppy eyes at Grian, complete with a wibbly lip.
"You can't just say that like it's a cheat code to get you whatever you want." Grian grumbles, climbing out of the nest and heading for the toy stash.
"You're so going to use that, aren't you." Lizzie whispers conspiraltorinally.
"I would never! I am appalled that you would think such a dastardly thing of me, my lady!" Scar plays up the fake outrage, all the while giving Lizzie a cheeky wink.
"I saw that!" Grian hollers from the bedroom, a location in which there is no physical way he could have had line of sight to Scar's face.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer!" Scar calls back, draping his arms over Lizzie's shoulders. On the topic of stealing things, he steals a kiss from her, soft and slow. A good way to pass the time.
"I leave and you to start neckin' without me huh? I see how it is." Grian throws himself into the nest with gusto, shaking them apart. "I got your stupid toys, by the way." The box sits just outside the nest.
"Ohh, goody!" Scar cheers, leaning so far out that he almost falls out. "We were just warmin' up for you, pretty bird." Scar adds, while Grian stuffs him back into the nest.
A second attempt is much more successful at retrieving toys. "Look at the new pretty-shiny!" Scar brandishes the jewel-crusted dildo swirl.
"Oooh, I've never seen that one. He handset them all?" She runs an admiring hand over the dildo. "Have you tried it?"
“Every last one.” Grian grouches.
Scar, however, has paused to tip his head and stare at Lizzie. “That’s an interesting guess.” He comments, mildly.
"He was the one who fixed my ring, back when the stone fell out." Lizzie holds up her hand, her wedding ring with its sparkly pink diamonds shining. "He wouldn't shut up about gem cutting for hours. Let me watch, too."
A soft gasp. "You've been to his lair?" Scar has clenchy-flexy stomach feelings about that. But how else would Vex fix Lizzie's ring, without his machines?
"I have." Lizzie confirms for him.
"And you didn't say anything?" Grian protests, scandalized.
"What was I going to say? Hey guys, my husband's boss introduced me to Scar's archnemesis, he's actually really chill?" Lizzie throws Grian a disbelieving look. "I'm sure that would have gone over well."
"Hotguy." He needs to clarify this. "Vex is Hotguy's archnemesis. Not Scar's. Or Neit's."
"Neit?" Lizzie blinks.
"That's not the important part here-" Grian shoves at Scar's face. "Yes! Yes you were supposed to say something! Even something stupid like that! What if him getting close to you was a trick because he was on to us?"
"I have... assurances. That he won't come after me or my friends."
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean!" Grian's wings poof out, accompanied by a sharp hiss.
"Does he know, that we're your friends?" Scar's voice, in contrast, soft as a whisper.
"No! No, of course not! I would never!" Lizzie protests. "He knows I'm married to Joel, and he knows I'm friends with Doc. That's it. I promise."
Grian throws himself out of the nest to pace in sharp clacks across the floor. If Scar cared about the finishing on his floors, he'd have to be worried about it.
Somehow, that isn't quite a priority right now.
Lizzie... She doesn't look like she's lying. Scar likes to think he'd know. The way her blooms move, the tone of her voice. He has to believe that he would know if she outright lied to his face in so many words.
"If that's all he knows, why would you need assurances?" Scar wants to understand.
"They were not something I explicitly asked for. Just that the nature of our meeting revealed things to me he doesn't want getting out. He asked me to keep his secrets. Which kind of implies the whole 'don't tell your friends who both work for the Hero Org that we know each other' thing." She pauses. "If you'd rather I leave, I get that."
"I don't work for them." Grian snaps, an old argument of semantics he won't let go, even in the heat of the moment.
"Don't go, not yet. I don't know." Scar sighs. "I know you couldn't tell us all of it, just. Something." His fingers curl into the hem of her shirt, an ache he doesn't know how to soothe.
"Like what? What on earth could I have told you that wouldn't have led to this exact conversation?" Lizzie wraps both her hands around the one Scar has on her shirt, drink long forgotten on the table.
“I don’t know!” Scar flinches back from his own shout. “That you met him? That he was nice to you?” Scar flounders, no solid answers to hand.
"A lot of the meetings were at the clinic, and you know that Doc has the rule that workers can't talk about who we meet there, regardless of any factors. And by the time I met him outside of the clinic I saw no good way to explain it."
Scar whines a malcontent noise, headbutting her shoulder. He doesn't like it. He doesn't like it! His Vex. Other people know his Vex.
And he can't even go yell to Vex about it! Not without giving away- Too much. Far too much.
"You could have put us in huge danger." Grian hisses, pacing unabated.
"You think I don't know that? You think I didn't check diligently that I wasn't putting both myself and those around me in danger? Have you forgotten what Joel does? I may not work for- or with- the Hero Org, but that in no way means I am sloppy or incompetent. Grian."
"Vex could take Joel, and you know it." Grian waves a wing.
"And in a fight." Scar whispers, without thinking.
"I meant," Lizzie cuts in before Grian can screech or chatter at Scar, "that I had to learn to vet every single person before I can get to know them. What with the danger of retaliation and all. Can't rely on him twenty-four seven."
"How do you vet a villain?" Scar asks, flopped over in the blankets beside her.
"With help. Do you trust me on this? To have done my due diligence? More than my due diligence?" Lizzie simply asks.
"I-" Scar stares into her eyes until he can't stand to look anymore. His free hand gropes around- Cold metal under his fingertips. "We never tried out- I haven't taken it yet."
"Scar." Sharp.
"Grian." Scar doesn't look up, letting just his tone do the talking. His head is too full, dragged in every direction, he can't- He needs this. He can't think.
"You want me to make you take it." Lizzie, his angel right now.
"But-" Grian tries again.
"Join, or leave. We can talk after." Lizzie cuts him off.
"I'm not leaving! And you couldn't kick me out anyway!" Grian rustles his wings.
"Grian." Another softly imploring call from Scar. Lizzie takes the dildo, freeing Scar's hand to reach out.
The clatter off footsteps answer without a word, Grian's hand taking his. Steady anchoring him. Grian's got his back, Scar knows.
"Get naked." A direct order, from Lizzie to Scar. No wiggle room. Just the sweet-sharp relief of clear instructions. Someone else making the decisions. To do nothing but obey to the best of his ability, and be rewarded or punished accordingly.
Scar sits up, getting his hands shooed away from his shirt by claws already busy with that. So he moves on to his pants, and trying to wrangle his legs for that. They'll move, but only under protest. He's used to it, and his home-pants have catches to help him get them off with less movement.
A whine bursts out of Scar, when Grian's hand wraps around the pendant, going for it after Scar's shirt is off.
"Leave it." Lizzie instructs. "No reason to upset him any more than he already is, whiny thing."
Bless her and her soft, sweet-scented hands as they come up to pet Scar's cheek.
Grian strokes his thumb over the surface of the gem. He gives the chain a little tug, before releasing the pendant to thump back against Scar's chest, cooled by the time away from Scar's skin.
Vex. How entangled is he already with Scar's life? Does this change anything?
Scar wiggles his butt, instead of thinking about that. He's stripped down, eager for what's next. Wouldn't it be a delight to have the whole thing put in him dry? The pain, exquisite.
"Grian? Would you be a dearie and pass me the lube? I don't plan on healing any butts today, and you, mister, will just complain and whine about it after the fact when you have to stay belly-down for hours." She adds, giving Scar a sharp smack to his butt.
Scar yips from the blow. "Nu-uh." He'd be a model patient, he's sure! Or they could leave him unhealed, like a reminder- Lots of options!
Grian sticks close, pulling out one of the stashed lubes he always places near nests. Pointless, but it makes Grian happier, so Scar doesn't mind, especially when it means less distance for Grian to go away when he gets silly lube ideas in his head.
"Ooh, the good stuff." Accepting the bottle, Lizzie clicks it open and drizzles some on her hand. "When was he last fucked? How much prep does he need?"
“Day or two ago. Tensed up like this, though? He’ll need some work.” Grian assesses, running a hand over Scar’s shoulder, over the tight muscles there.
"Gotcha. How involved do you wanna be? Just watching? Or should I put you in my plans?" Scar barely has the presence of mind to focus on her words, with Lizzie pushing him onto his back and roughly shoving two fingers in him right away. At least, he thinks it's two fingers. Might as well be her whole hand with how the stretch burns and stings, hurting him in all the right places.
He’s trying! Scar swears he’s trying to relax! It’s just- His noisy brain. Lizzie knows, though, Lizzie is patient, but firm. She’s working him through it.
“I’ll participate, though I’d rather stay on this end. For now.” Grian eventually answers.
"Have at him. I'd like to flip him over soon, so keep that in mind." She's purposefully avoiding his prostate, adding another finger way too soon. Letting him melt in that exquisite pain that burns his thoughts apart like butter sizzling down in a hot pan.
"Yeah, yeah." Grian presses fingers against Scar's lips. Of course Scar welcomes them freely, finding the claws already gone when he goes to lick them. Still good, though. More full of fingers, less full of thoughts. Just how Scar likes.
Grian contents himself with idly fingerfucking Scar's mouth, occasionally making him sputter and choke, intentionally digging into what's left of Scar's gag reflex.
Lizzie on the other hand is quite intent on destroying his ass. Pain flares brightly, and she's not shy about digging her short nails into his rim, or raking them over his insides. What she doesn't do is stretch him around four fingers. The be-gemmed dildo is large, and Scar would need at least four fingers to take it fully comfortably.
Well, maybe he shouldn't take it comfortably. Maybe he should take it uncomf-
"A friend." Grian snips, squinting at Scar.
Mrw? Scar mewls around Grian's fingers, not making him gag right now, just lazily petting Scar's tongue. Lizzie's a friend. Grian's a friend. A friend and other stuff, too.
"Stop giving me those mushy googoo eyes you disaster, you know exactly what I'm talking about." Unsatisfied with Scar's reaction, Grian smishes his other hand in Scar's face. Scar takes his punishment with dignity, even if he doesn't feel that it's much of a punishment. Which matches, because he also doesn't feel he did anything wrong.
"Are we sure you turned back from being a cat?" Grian huffs, moving his hand up to ruffle Scar's hair.
Scar giggles a few more mrewls around Grian's fingers.
Did Vex ever say? He'd know! Scar doesn't remember.
"Ready to flip him?" Lizzie asks. Scar doesn't register that. No, all he knows is that her fingers leave his hole, leaving him all empty inside.
Scar promptly bursts into tears.
"Crybaby." Grian plaps his hand back and forth on Scar's cheeks, tiny impacts that are more sound than force. "Do it." He answers whatever Lizzie had asked.
Scar's whole world spins. By the time he realizes it really did, not just in his head, there's a cold, hard pressure against his hole. Grian's dick shoving in his mouth, short and pointy-thin then so thick and bubbular it fills out Scar's cheeks, stretches his jaw, garbles the thanks of relief that want to spill from him.
Slowly, cruelly, kindly, oh so kindly, Lizzie forces the dildo into him.
Talk buzzes through Scar, in one ear and out the other without registering. Unimportant, compared to making out with Grian's dick, to appreciating every single chill bump of the dildo as Lizzie twirls it into him. Screw it right on in! Like Vex is right here fucking him, too.
Every bump, every point clatters over his nerves. Grating, sanding down all the rough bumps and snarls until there's nothing left. Only silky smooth calm, centered around where he's stuffed full to the brim from both ends.
Moans roll through Scar's chest, contented limpness reaching every muscle. Grian idly fucks Scar's throat, the thin tip of his dick not taking a turn up into Scar's nasal cavity, this time.
Whatever Lizzie says, Scar makes encouraging noises in response to. Which seems to have been the right answer, given the drag of body-warmed metal and stone back along Scar's hole again.
Out, out, out, then back in again with force that has Scar screaming, blinding pain shooting through his body.
He can't scream. He can't scream. Grian's filling his mouth, filling his throat, stuffing every one of Scar's holes so full, there's nowhere for the pain to go. It reverberates through Scar, striking every chord it finds. Tears spill over again, the only relief Scar gets from the pressure mounting.
Cleansing pain, scrubbing every thought out of Scar's head, until all that's left is the overwhelming sensation rubbing every bit of his insides.
"-handsome when you cry." A fragment of Grian's words break through, a singing pride that tells him this is praise, that he's doing well. The pads of Grian's fingers, smearing those tears across Scar's face.
The tension in Scar melts. Only when Lizzie's continued thrusts start to chafe on his tummy does Scar realize he just came, the pathetic dribble his cock managed barely enough to wet the pillow under him.
Scar tries to say something about it, working his mouth and throat and- And that's less important than the treat Grian spills down his throat, musky and banana flavored. A laugh manages to bubble out around the shrinking knot between Scar's lips, Grian smugly carding through Scar's hair. His bird is so proud of being able to produce flavored semen. As he should be! A delightful trick, every time.
Pulling back, Grian wipes his dick dry with a towel- where did he get a towel?- and goes to plop in the nest with them.
“I see how it is. Lazybones.” Lizzie says something more, but Scar loses many of the words to several rough thrusts. “-or I’ll leave this one in him.”
"Alright, fine, let me grab something." Grian shuffles, his rustles and clonking giving away that he's rummaging through the toybox. Then-
"Revenge!" Grian crows, getting a shocked little squeak from Lizzie that fades into a long moan, buzzing, and the slick sound of kissing. Shuffling his own body enough that he can turn his head to look behind him, Scar sees that Grian's snuck up behind Lizzie, pinned her to his body and shoved a vibrating wand under her skirt. Scar can see where her skirt is rucked up, exposing Grian's hand and the fact that Lizzie is still wearing panties. Grian vibes her clit right through the cloth as they kiss. Fuck, that's hot. Scar's already spent dick gives a pathetic little twitch.
Breaking the kiss, Grian turns Lizzie's attention back to Scar. "Go on. Keep fucking him. He looks like he's got entirely too many thoughts behind those eyes."
Lizzie's hands tremble as she reaches for Scar, having to take a moment to brace on him and get her bearings.
"What's the matter? I said fuck him." The buzzing thrums louder, Grian clicking up the vibe as Lizzie moans.
Shivering, Scar shoves his hips up into Lizzie's touch what little bit he can at this point, with his muscles all quivering goop. Yes, fuck the remaining bit of lint posing as half a thought right out of his brain.
Scar yelps, when she begins moving the dildo again. The twists and bumps keep trying to snag and scrape. Like he's being sanded down, like his dribbling dick can't do anything but ache and leak, leak like his brain. All cleaned out, cheek pressed to pillow, drool spreading, half-watching his own defilement with glazed eyes.
Grian and Lizzie look so good like this, pastel over jeweltone rainbow. A vision to appreciate.
Not that Scar can think much of it. With Lizzie fucking him again, his brain simply empties until his vision whites out.
Shaking, Lizzie collapses in Grian's arms, hips twitching as she wails through her orgasm.
After that, all Scar knows is a soft fullness entering him, and warm bodies flopping down on either side of him. He can’t coordinate himself to grab- But they do that for him, snuggling close to hold tight to him. Nothing else matters for a very long time.
"I'm sorry." Lizzie mumbles from somewhere in the pile, time and time and time later. "I should have said something. I just didn't know how."
Sunlight streams in at a different angle than when they started, morning silver having transformed to the bright glowing gold of early afternoon. God rays dance over dust motes as gauzy curtains sway softly in the breeze of the open window, unaffected by the burbling rush of traffic from down below.
"S'okay." Scar fumbles his hands up until one of them reaches Lizzies cheek to pat. "It's... big. It's a lot." He wishes he had better words for her. He's trying, turning them over in his head, slowly.
Grian chitters, pressing into Scar's other side.
"It is." She sighs. "Look. He's a friend. I trust him not to harm me. Or my friends."
Scar nods, his other hand finding its way to the pendant laying against his chest. "He's not going to."
Then again, that was never Scar's concern here.
"Possibly. Maybe. Still creepy of him." Grian grumbles.
"Coincidence. It's a small world." Lizzie says. "So, are we good? Or do you want to yell at me some more?"
"Shut up." Grian blindly flaps his wing over Scar at Lizzie, none-too-forceful.
"He's got so many people..." Scar shakes his head to dislodge those thoughts before they form. "We're- You're. You're the same Lizzie. Still our Lizzie."
"He does. You need more. I'm glad you'll all have each other now." Lizzie pets the flapping wing until it slows and settles.
"I only know some of his people. A few." How many more are there? Surely Vex won't want to mix that. Not when his people include villains. Not with Scar being who he is.
Grian's teeth dig into Scar's shoulder, knocking those thoughts askew.
"He'd probably introduce you, if you asked. To those that he can at least."
Wha-? Who would what? Sorry, Scar can't come to the phone right now, he's currently being used as a chewtoy by a malcontent bird. “Mrewp?” Scar answers, very eloquently.
“Maybe one of these times Doc won’t have to drop in on things.” Grian grumbles. “Did you know his credentials are irritatingly airtight?”
"He is one of the lead scientists in several areas of medical research, as well as owning almost half the hospitals in the city. On top of actively practicing medicine himself. They'd better be." There's a no-nonsense quality to Lizzie's tone.
“Half? That can’t be right-” Grian bites more firmly, teething messily at Scar’s shoulder. That’s nice.
“Almost half.” Lizzie corrects.
“Then what’s he doing hanging out with a mad science asshole like Vex?”
"They're friends." Lizzie volunteers as Scar makes a valiant effort to bap Grian.
"Don't be silly, evil fae can't have friends. Actually, what if he has some kind of deal on Doc?" Grian just baps Scar's hand right back with his wing, which is convenient for Scar. Get wing-petted, fool.
"In that case, Vex is probably the most domestic cuddly fae I've ever met. Absurd, the amounts of adorable he can be." A fond smile plays around Lizzie's lips.
"He's not allowed to be this domestic!" Grian huffs, headbutting Scar's shoulder, before going back to biting with a vengeance.
Scar cuddles Grian's wing close, squishing it gently between himself and Lizzie.
"Terrible, the guy. Horribly sweet." Lizzie agrees, reaching out to pet Grian's head.
“He’s the worst. Awful. Senseless. Frivolous.” Grian mutters darkly. He doesn’t pull away from Lizzie’s petting, though.
"He likes being the worst." Scar mumbles. Lazy fingers weave into colorful feathers, petting and smoothing and scritching.
Grian huffs. "He doesn't make any sense." Chirrs slip out with Scar's scritches.
"A guy with many sides." Lizzie nods sagely.
"I'm full up my quota on those." Grian's wing drags down Scar's side, before flopping over Scar again.
"Are either of you 'ungry? I'm 'ungry. I could go for some of that mac I saw, and a touch of of quail. Would go great with some baguette." Abruptly changing the topic, Lizzie pulls herself up to a sit, studying the snacks.
"Anything can be a coochie board if you believe enough." Scar giggles, finding himself hauled upright and draped onto Grian's shoulder without so much as a by your by. Comfy perch, good to melt on.
"That asshole has to have every fancy restaurant in town on speed dial." Grian bemoans. "Make me a plate. If I have to think about him, I deserve a snack."
Lizzie gets to work, divvying up the snacks onto three plates. One to Grian, one to Scar, and the last she keeps for herself.
Scar grabs a bit of quail off of Grian's plate, while Grian digs into the mac on Scar's plate. "I miss claws. Vexy's gonna figure out how to make us kitties again."
"What- No! He's not experimenting on you!" Grian squawks, throwing a protective wing over Scar.
"Only because he's a coward." Scar snuggles into his wing-cloak. "Cruel. Mean. Would only let me have it if it's already all tested up. Terrible, terrible man."
"He's like that. Refuses to give people he cares about untested things. Idiot is more likely to test them on himself." Lizzie shakes her head. "Which has landed him in the clinic more than once."
"Selfish, hoarding it all to himself." Scar pouts.
Grian's hand on his shoulder, shaking him. "That's. You- He. Ugh!" A long string of complaint-chirps. "He's not allowed to do either!" Grian declares.
"Good luck trying to stop him." Lizzie says mildly, digging into her own mac. "Say, is this the lobster mac from that seafood place at the river? The Queen Clam?"
"I don't need luck." Oh! Grian being all ominous! Scar loves that. And in fact, chooses to show this by peppering his cheek with kisses. "And it sure fucking tastes like it. He had to have ordered from every seafood place in fifty miles to satisfy their cravings."
"You asked for the mac. I just got sushi." Scar corrects. Ignoring how he stole at least a whole container of it. That doesn't count, Vexy got extra.
"You got every sushi item on a whole place's menu. Twice." Grian counters. "He probably still has sushi even with all of it that we took with us."
"Nah. I ate it all up! All gone!" Scar grins. "Catguy and Neit both have quite the appetite you know? I could never." A solemn shake of his head.
Grian shoves a whole seedy ball in Scar’s mouth. So kind of him to share!
“Catguy, cute.” Lizzie ruffles Scar’s hair. “And is that a new nickname I hear?”
“We couldn’t let Vex call him Scar.”
"True, true. How'd that come about, if you don't mind sharing?" Lizzie steals one of the seedy balls for herself.
Well, Scar can’t let Grian steal the answering for that! So he spits the partially chewed seedy ball into his own palm. “Vex gave me head fit for a god, and also the name of one.” Omp! Back into his mouth to keep chewin’ the tasty ball.
“You can’t start there! That’s the middle!” Grian protests.
Best he can do right now is blep at Grian, furiously chewing away at his ball.
"Must be one hell of a story." Lizzie remarks, taking a second smaller bite of her own ball.
“Hell is right.” Grian rolls his eyes. “Did you bring the bottle? I need another drink-“
"Mhn, bottles're on the floor, next to the table." Setting her plate aside, Lizzie holds out a hand for Grian's glass.
Grian hands it over. “Can you believe he mixes drinks, too? Would it kill him to be bad at things?”
"He's horrible at taking care of himself." Lizzie pours Grian a mix of different colored wets.
"Stronger." Grian protests, watching her.
Another shot of clear splishy, then the glass gets handed over again.
Grian knocks back a hefty swallow of his drink. "And it didn't look that way from over here, what the hell does that even mean?"
"He can be. Goes on lab binges where he forgets to eat or drink or even pee. Sometimes for days." She considers her last bite of ball for a moment. "He's had to receive medical attention for it before."
"He had timers for that." Grian waves a wing. "Looks like he's got it under control now."
"Thankfully, yeah. Scar? Your story?" Lizzie prompts, now that Scar's done chewing his ball. She also thieves his cup, adding more sploshies to it.
Just what he needed to wash the ball down!
"So, you know how Vexy went away for a while?" Scar pauses, to blep at Grian. "Is that far enough back for you?"
Grian nods, approving.
"And then he came back, and we fought. You saw that, I know. While fighting, I put a cuff on him. And then he cuffed me back! The audacity!"
"How bold of him!" Lizzie gasps.
"Right? No shame on him. Cuffed me and bundled me right up into his lair!"
"Because he wasn't already kidnapping you often enough." Grian mutters into the rim of his glass.
"Exactly!" Scar throws a hand up, the other one needed to stabilize his plate. "Anyway, I set the lab on fire then took a nap in a cozy nest. Vexy wasn't doing too good, something about iron but the loaf didn't say more. He made me let the loaf look at me before he let the loaf do him. I got a great massage out of it, though."
"Doc is rather loaf-shaped, isn't he?" Lizzie nods to a backdrop of Grian gesturing incredulously.
"He's a crime loaf." Scar adds.
"Crime? What crime did he commit?" Lizzie tilts her head, blooms swaying curiously.
"He stole away all my Vexy cuddles!" Is there any more heinous crime?
Perhaps the crime of Grian's hand in Scar's face. "C'mon, focus up. That was this time, not last time."
"I see." Lizzie nods, while Scar takes another sippy of his drink.
"After mister doctor loafman was there, Vexy was being all annoying! Refusing to kiss me and all! Claiming I didn't know what I was saying!" Scar pouts.
"Yeah, because you had the mind control collar that you conveniently forgot to mention on." Grian snips.
"It wasn't even the real one!" Scar protests.
"Not the real one?" Lizzie asks.
"Yes! A dud collar! He let me keep it!" Scar preens.
"Yes, the real one that he had been using on Scar for years at this poi-" That's enough of that from Grian! Scar wholesale shoves his hand in Grian's mouth. Much better use for that hole than tattling on tiny unimportant little details.
"Nice. So he came around then?" She asks. "Did you convince him?"
"He put me in the tube and spent forever staring at the brain squigglies before he believed me!" Scar whines.
"The tube." Grian hisses, or well, Scar's sure that's what he's hissing, despite the garbled sounds around his fingers. And the bites. Those too.
"So then we spent the next few days making cookies and also banging on every surface that even a little allowed for it. Dick game strong, by the by." Scar hums. "But he needed somethin' to call me that wasn't not-me, so I told him to creampie me."
"He was never going to call you creampie." Lizzie shakes her head. "That's just not him. Though his medlab is ridiculously well equipped for a private home one, since you mentioned it. I'd say I'd kill for that setup, but that doesn't really mean much does it?"
"He could have. But I like what he gave me too!" Scar curls his fingers in Grian's mouth. "Why don't you ask him to get you some? He likes buyin' people stuff." Sounds simple to Scar.
"Maybe I will. Have him get me a nice setup for my birthday." Long thinky blinks.
"Yes! More treats for you too." Scar nods enthusiastically.
"All the treats for me!" She grins at him. "So how was fucking Vex? As good as you hoped?"
Bubbling giggles rising up in him. "So good he's knocked me out with it multiple times. One hundred stars out of ten, will fuck again."
"Good to hear he isn't skimping out on pleasing you just because you have a crush." Lizzie nods.
"How could he, with his big ol' crush?" Scar slips his fingers out of Grian's mouth to boop saliva and blood onto Grian's nose. "I think he was tryin’ to impress us, really."
"Us?" Lizzie asks, setting her plate down to get up and head to the bathroom.
Given that Grian's face vanishes behind his head-wings, Scar takes it upon himself to answer still. "Yep! Us! We couldn't leave my sweetheart rescuer out of the fun, now could we?"
"Grian also fucked Vex?" Returning with her bounty of spray and towel, Lizzie settles back in, gently taking Scar's hand in hers.
Not a single worry in Scar's head about letting Lizzie take his hand.
"Don't remind me, I plead insanity by way of letting Scar run his mouth." Grian bemoans.
"And here I thought it'd be insanity by Vex's tongue-" Scar snickers.
"That tongue of his is dangerous." Lizzie nods, drying Scar's hand off thoroughly.
"No wonder he's up to standards, if he had you to whip him into shape." Scar winks at Lizzie. Lizzie wouldn't let nobody she sleeps with go around giving second-rate tounging! "I shoulda guessed."
"I can't say I recieved him in bad shape. He's clearly had practice before." Hand cleaned, it now gets the spray. "You good not seeing for a few?"
"Yeah, hit me." Scar ducks, Grian's wing swooshing past over his hair and stopping short before getting to Lizzie.
Lizzie spritzes her own hand, placing it on the sluggishly bleeding bite marks.
Darkness descends over Scar, carrying with it the wriggling sensation of his hand-muscles worming their way back into place. Leaving him slumped contentedly into the warmth of Grian's shoulder beside him. "Thank you, Lizzie." Scar chirps his best appreciation.
"Of course!" She chirps. "You had the chance to be on any of Vex's more naughty machines yet?"
Gasping, Scar perks up. "So he does have secret fancy fucking machines?" He bounces in place, moaning as that jostles what must be a plug inside of him. "Oh, he's gonna get it for holdin' out on me!"
"He most definitely does. He'll also make just about any you could want. Same thing goes for toys. You know that double ended harnessless strap I love? He made that for me, to my exact specifications." Lizzie takes Scar's plate and cup out of his hands.
"I've got his dick, and the glowy wiggly tentacle-"
"I can glow and wiggle." Grian comments sullenly.
"You also can't be here all the time. And the Vexy-toys can." Scar bleps in the direction he thinks Grian is.
"I could just take you to work with me. If someone can have a seeing-eye gorgon, I can have a seeing-eye Scar." Grian's finger flicks against Scar's cheek.
"Yes! I can be a service Scar!" Scar bounces in place, plug jostling pleasantly.
"You should ask Vex next time you see him. Maybe give him a sketch of a toy you want." A great suggestion!
"I'm gonna have to figure out what I even wanna ask for first! There's so many options." Claws carding through Scar's hair. "And, of course, I'll need a model for my sketches."
"I want toys too, if I've got to be the model." Grian grumps.
"Of course, of course, any toys you like. Fair compensation for your most valued of contributions." Perish the very thought that he would deprive Grian of his fair share of the orgasmic spoils!
"Does Vex know about Grian's shifting?" Lizzie asks.
The weight of Grian's withering glare is palpable as Scar holds his own tongue, until Grian runs out of patience to wait for someone else to answer. "Not much. Just that I can change my junk, not anything else."
Even that little is- Well, Scar knows how much that is to trust Vex with, for Grian.
"Well, just know you wouldn't be the only one in his friend group."
"Group? He has a whole group of friends?" Scar tries to blink spots out of his eyes, only to be pulled back into Grian's arms from where he hadn't realized he'd surged toward Lizzie's voice.
"Great, so I have to be extra wary of him catching clues." Grian squeezes all the air out of Scar's chest. He's stress ball now. To celebrate his new role, Scar gives a tiny squeak.
"Everyone has a group of friends. That's just what it's called." Scar can just about see Lizzie shrug. "And even if he does notice, he won't think much of it, or try to use it to track you down."
Scar makes malcontent noises. He's pretty sure his few own people don't qualify for the title of group.
"I'm not looking to test that theory." Grian adds his wings around Scar's waist, before letting up his arms just enough that Scar's vision doesn't start going dark again for different reasons than before.
"No reason to get fussy on me." Lizzie softly swats Scar. "Cheer up. How about we finish up eating and then do our nails?"
Scar instantly pulls on his maximum perkiness. "Who's not cheery, silly goose~!" A couple of bounces and a beamingly perfect smile cap his words off.
"Did you bring new colors?" Grian asks, fully ignoring Scar, rude.
"I've got a new purple I can fetch." Lizzie hands Scar back his plate. "Eat up, then we can do nails."
"Meals conspiracy!" Scar cheers, taking the plate. "Put those nails to use first." He tips his head back to peer at Grian. What? He can't be expected to feed himself. If they want him to eat, they're gonna have to put in the work!
"Of course you want to be fed." Grian clicks his tongue, but scoops up a piece of quail to drop into Scar's mouth anyway.
" 'ank 'ou." Scar follows that up with muffled grateful chirps as he devours the offered morsel. "Suffer me bein' all spoiled now." Scar giggles, using the hand not holding his plate to pet the wings around his waist.
"Did Vex spoil you a ton?" Lizzie asks, nudging a bite of quail on a spoon of mac she then offers Scar.
"Uhuh! He spoiled me so good!" Scar leans in, with a stage whisper. "Sometimes too good. But he's learnin'." Chomp! Spoonful all his now.
"Good, good." Lizzie nods. "As he should."
"An' Gri'n, too!" Scar insists.
"Finish chewing before talking. Disaster." Grian's chin weighs comfortably on Scar's shoulder. Pointy jabby bits can be comforting, when they're Grian.
Another spoonful is offered to Scar, that he also gleefully chomps up. His now. He could get used to this, being fed.
No decisions to make, no effort. Almost-floating, a pleasant way of being becoming easier to slip into. Morsels delivered to him by fingers he trusts. Time unimportant, only the gnashing of teeth and the bursts of flavor. Only the sweet crooning sounds he makes between bites.
In between, pets and scritches and soft voices he doesn't have to follow.
Soon, no more bites are forthcoming. More importantly, one of the trusted-safe tries to get up and leave.
"Stay." Scar whines, clinging to pink and cherrysweet and healing-hands.
The trying to leave stops, thank goodness. More words, in a tone he knows as concern but not distress.
The brush of a small wing against his cheek, tiny tickling beloved feathers. "Scar." He knows that sound, that's for him to listen to! "Scar, come on, focus for me. Come on back to us." Grian's voice, pushing back fog with each word.
"Prettybird?" The word rolls of his tongue like molasses, slow and sweet and thick.
"Yes, good, that's me." Clawed fingers, petting his cheek. Grian.
"Good bird. Prettiest bird. Prettiest Grian." Scar pays with the sounds until the words flow together in a way that feel right.
"Correct. Or I will be, once you let Lizzie here go get our nail polish."
"Nails?" Nail polish? Lizzie just wants to get nail polish? Not leave them forever-ever?
"You'll come back? Prommy?" Scar blinks his best big wet kitty eyes up at Lizzie.
"I'll be back lickety-split, don't you even fret. And then we can all get prettied up." Lizzie pats Scar's hands.
She's trusted-safe, she wouldn't lie. And his home is safe, no need to worry about anything snatching her away. Hesitantly, Scar nods.
"Good, thank you." Before she leaves, she makes it a point to kiss Scar's forehead. Allowing him to arch up into her touch, to savor it. Then she's gone, leaving behind just a wisp of her sweet cherry scent.
Grian's wings remained tucked close around him. "You've been slipping like that more often, lately." A soft murmur of words.
Scar tips his head. "Is that bad?"
A long quiet settles between them. Long enough that Scar starts nuzzling into Grian's tiny wing, the good fluff.
"Just be careful who you do it around." Grian finally answers.
"Mmkay. I trust you, though. Safe in your wings." Soft, adoring coos for Scar's flock. His cove. His Grian.
"I'm back!" The door closes behind Lizzie as she returns.
"Lizzie!" Scar calls, making big grabby hands in her direction. He wants his Lizzie-snuggles!
Jingling clacks accompany her return to their nest, a bag full of familiar tiny glass bottles. "Scar!" She scoops both of them up in a great squishy hug.
"Missed you." He mumbles into her hair.
"Silly. I was only gone for maybe two minutes, at most." Small hands ruffle through his hair, comforting.
"Forever!" Scar leans into her touch. Healing, even without power, soothing his achy heart.
"Aww, sweet baby. I missed you too." She coos.
"Good." Scar rubs his cheek all over her face and shoulders. Kitty instincts were right, that's good. The good stuff. Even if he can't smell it anymore.
"Still a little kitty, huh? Want your nails done, little kitty-Scar?" More headscritches, all for Scar!
"Kitties got the right ideas." Sleep in sunbeam, own everything in sight, rub face on friends, hunt down bird, run around at night, get fed treats. Kind of an ideal life, really. "Yes, yes! Do me!" He holds up his hands.
"You make an excellent kitty." She nods seriously, taking the offered hands. A paper towel goes down under them, then Lizzie's opening her bag and presenting Scar with his options. "What colors do you two want?"
"A new pur-" Grian starts in curiously.
"I want rainbow!" Scar looks down at the wings around him, then back up at Lizzie. Grian makes a soft, strangled noise from beside him, rubbing a head wing against his own warm cheek.
"I can do a Grian rainbow. And this is the purple." Digging a bottle out, Lizzie shows Grian a deep, violet purple.
"Gonna wear the colors of my pretty bird~" Scar sing-songs.
"...how didn't I see this any sooner?" Grian shakes his head, but becomes captivated by the bottle. "Not quite right, but I'll take it. Maybe it'll dry a little different."
A familiar routine by now, when Grian is presented with a purple nail polish, the declaration that they're never 'quite right', despite him still trying them. Scar's sure if he had the supplies, he could mix something exactly correct. Maybe in a couple tries, but he could.
Lizzie hands over the bottle, knowing Grian prefers to do his own nails. He can be very exacting with how they're done.
"How do these look?" Lining up a series of five bottles, she turns back to Scar. A bright red, a yellow with an orange shimmer, a lush green, a vibrant blue and a deep purple. All the colors of Grian's preferred wings, in order.
Studying each bottle in turn, Scar compares them with the feather-colors in front of him. "Excellent choices, madame." They will represent his bird in sufficient fidelity. "If you would be so kind."
"Gladly." She takes up his presented hands, setting them down so she can easily do the thumbs. Those get the bright red. Scar watches her work, sitting still and calmquiet. He knows better than to fidget or talk while she works.
The scent of paint fumes tickle his nose, a not-quite-itch that he can't scratch. That too, goes into the calm, the soft blur. The feeling that he's being handled and adorned, Grian's colors alongside Vex's pendant, marking him.
Claiming him. All safe and sound. Wanted. Adored.
A few more blinks and there's a hand on his cheek again, the sweetness of Lizzie's lotion in his nose. He mewls, not letting himself even lean forward.
"All set to move again, good boy. How do they look?" Her words send relief zinging through Scar, a shake of movement down his arms to clear out the stillness.
Wriggling his fingers, Scar looks down at them. And gasp! They look like someone stole the very colors off Grian's feathers to put on his nails!
"They're perfect!" Throwing himself at Lizzie, he flings both arms tightly around her. Covers all he can reach of her in kisses. "I really look like I'm wearing the prettiest of all birds~!"
Grian chatters about the disturbance to his wings, still putting finishing touches on his own nails with how particular he is about it. Too bad! Scar has a Lizzie to smother with smooches!
"Thank you, thank you. I really am amazing, aren't I?" Lizzie chuckles, returning a couple kisses when she can.
"A miracle worker! The best!" Scar enthuses.
The very moment Grian has set his bottle aside, Scar is on him too.
"Look, pretty bird, pretty Grian, look!" Splaying out the fingers of one hand, Scar tugs one of Grian's wings forward to compare the colors. "Look! Your colors! Now everyone can see I'm yours!"
"I'm going to die and you're going to be my cause of death." Grian murmurs, muffled through his own head-wing.
"I'd love to. Sounds like an amazing date to me~" Scar chirps.
"Scar." A higher strangled note to Grian's voice.
A huff from Scar. "Alright, fine. But nobody other than me gets to kill you, alright?"
"You really have been sending too much time with him." Grian groans.
"Cute!" Lizzie insists.
"Says you! You married Joel!" Grian squawks, even as he wraps a wing around Scar, both hands with their wet nail polish held up and out of the way.
"Like you wouldn't marry this fool in a heartbeat. And you got into the mask life, your point is?" Lizzie snickers.
Mm, perfect handwarmer, Grian's face. Scar steals all the toasty warms right into his fingers. "You do know a thing or two about tying knots." Scar muses.
"Wh- I- n- Shut up!" Grian sputters, battering Scar's hands on his face with his headwings. A face as warm as Vexy is cool.
"Make me~" Scar purrs.
Not even a moment's hesitation before Grian's surging forward, claiming Scar's lips the same as his colors have claimed Scar's hands. Perfect biting smooches, noses bumping and teeth clacking and every awkward thing for Scar to love about how they come together.
Breathless and grinning, Scar takes the reprieve when Grian settles back slightly to press their foreheads together. "My point exactly."
"Pest." Grian mutters, cheeks still a flaming red. His tone is impossibly fond though, and pairs well with the kisses. A coocherie of Grian, Scar thinks, giggling.
"Your pest. Forever and ever." Scar kisses the small wing cradling his cheek, for good measure.
"You'd better remember that." The other wing wags threateningly at him.
"You'll always be here to remind me if I forget." Scar trusts Grian with that, when his own brain fails him.
"I'd threaten to carve my name into your forehead, but that's not a threat to you. You disaster." Plap! Plap! The wing on his cheek smacks him several times.
Perfect for Scar to muffle a moan into. "I'd like it to be a promise." Maybe someday he'll be good enough for Grian to carve his name into. A forever-reminder, all fancy and planned, very Grian.
"Like I said. Disaster. Though I suppose I could look into something a little less extreme. Can't fall behind him now can I." Grian hems and haws a bit, pinching Scar's cheek.
"Whatever you want to give me." Scar knows better than to remind Grian that it's not a competition. And maybe... Scar could stand to be competed over, a little. As a treat. "Wearing you would be my delight."
"Aww, aren't you two sweet." Lizzie coos, lounging herself out on the couch with her drink. "Absolutely tooth-rotting."
"Noo, I need those." Scar nips and nibbles at Grian's tiny wing. Grian can be treats.
"Then stop being so disgustingly cute!" Grian growls, seizing Scar in another kiss, all teeth and nips and aggression. Scar's feeling rather backfooted, in a good way, with Grian this set on devouring him. Tickles him in all those good ways.
Sweet and breathless little chirps from Scar, adoring. Easy to let Grian push him back, drape over him. A nice heavy claim, sealed in fingers finally free to wind through hair and teeth hungry to dig into Scar's soft flesh. The perfect loving-vicious creature of Grian.
A cheerfully melodic ringtone cuts through the room, breaking them out of their smooches.
"One moment guys, that's my boss, I'll be right back, wait for me! Yes, hello, Lizzie Lady-Beans he-" The bathroom door falling shut muffles Lizzie's words beyond understanding, quiet settling over them.
Scar loops his arms around behind Grian's lower back, luxuriating in his pointy Grian blanket. Could he need anything other than to get lost in those dark eyes?
Wiggly blanket, though. Lotsa little shimmying and scooting.
"Mm, grab the remote?" Scar doesn't care what they put on, whatever's already in his DVD player is fine, just something for the part of Grian's brainbits that will chew through its enclosure if not fed sounds and words and stuff.
Chipped plastic, pressed into his hand. Hitting the buttons is muscle memory by now. Across from them, the old TV flares to life, the DVD's menu music pouring from the speakers. Beauty and the Beast. Good enough! On with the show! After hitting play, Scar scoot so that Grian can easily turn his head and see the TV, if he likes. Even if Grian looks content to just listen for the moment, a much more relaxed blanket.
Which Scar is happy to help along, with a hand rubbing up and down between Grian's wings, fluffing and smoothing the feathers there in turn.
"Sorry about that." Lizzie returns to them. "A coworker's caught something and my boss wanted to know if I can fill in for her tomorrow."
“No worries.” Scar assures, while Grian’s answer comes only as a loose whistle. Scar can feel him tracing the edges of the wing-pendant tucked between them. “Good thing we started girls' night early, then.” Given that Lizzie demands, ugh, a reasonable amount of sleep before going in to work.
Something about being responsible with lives in emergency situations.
"Good thing, yeah. Though it is the late shift, so no rush." She climbs into the nest with them.
"More Lizzie time for us!" Scar cheers, dragging Lizzie overtop of his and Grian's tangled legs. Good and smished, yes, ideal. Scar can preen careful fingers through her hair, gentle fingers, no pulling, gentle.
A good way to spend a day, cuddled up with his Lizzie and his Grian, Vex’s pendant tucked close to his heart, a good movie running.
Breath easy in Scar's lungs, warmth surrounding him. Assured in his claims. Certain, despite the unknown adventures ahead, that it's going to work out. They'll see it through.
