It could be just that he thought the shop will pay for everything. Although the shop (or at least the purchase of the place etc.) became a thing before the “accident”. Elliot knew about it before anyone else and Edward tells him he’s sick in 2x06. Then didn’t Magda know about the shop? Or maybe that’s what she’s referring to when she mentions other bills. Hmm...

theyre talking about his cancer treatments. there wont be any bills because he's not going to get any cancer treatments
I changed it a little to also refer to the cancer bills (though as above it could’ve been about the costs of the shop I think). Was it ever brought up that he refused the treatment? I’m not trying to nitpick I’m just curious cause something rings a bell, but my memory is shit lol.
