Movie Howl is adorable and very easy on the eyes, as Ghibli characters tend to be. (Also: fluffy hair! I am not immune to fluffy hair.) However, I do prefer Book Howl, who is simultaneously very suave and kind of a nerd and has impeccable fashion sense and a more interesting face. Also, Movie Howl might fluster me; Book Howl definitely would.

You know the story about how the Tangled animators got a bunch of women together and asked them to pick the hottest of the possible designs for Flynn/Eugene? Yeah, they picked right.

Movie Caspian was one of my earliest real crushes, and I am not afraid to say it. Very handsome man with an excellent accent. (I was very sad when he lost said accent in Voyage . . . but he also gained a beard and some maturity, so I'm not that upset.)

I have no explanations for why one Spanish-accented man with long dark hair gets a "gorgeous" rating and one gets only an "adorable" rating, but. That is the way of it.

2. Do you still buy CDs (or other physical media)?

YES. I inherited from my dad the habit of ripping CDs to create my own electronic library--back in the days when I had an MP3 player instead of a smartphone and Spotify Premium--so I like to do that. Plus there are especially sacred CDs I grew up with that aren't available digitally and I am a media packrat. Plus now that I'm in my band-listening era, CDs have the extra benefit of being signable where t-shirts (another thing I collect) may fade.

8. Is there an artist or song that you like, despite being of a genre you don't usually like?

tbh the Arcadian Wild is the first one that comes to mind? they push the edge of my vocals preferences--I generally like voices to sound more natural, and they were an acquired taste. As a counter-example, my sister likes Grey Havens but they're farther down the...idk what the word is, but I think of it as "airy"? The more sing-alongable a song is (and the more I can understand the lyrics without Google) the better. So I struggle with what I think is generally thought of as the "indie" sound unless a more grounded style is mixed in enough. But Arcadian Wild I can manage.

12. Who’s the most obscure artist you listen to?

tbh probably one of the tiny shanty bands who managed to get a song onto my catch-all folk playlist like the Wellington Wailers (134 monthly Spotify listeners)

30. Songs you love to sing along to:

I mean basically anything by the Longest Johns but if i HAD to pick, maybe Hard Times Come Again No More, Mary Ellen Carter, and Shawneetown? then there's La Noble Vila de Su by El Pony Pisador, Seamus Kennedy's Rattlin' Bog, the High Kings' Chasing Rainbows, and pretty much anyone doing Rocky Road to Dublin or Irish Rover xD

Have coffee with: Eanrin. I am prying every story I can out of him, and I am also risking my own self-confidence by asking him to look at some of my own writing.

Go thrift shopping with: The Golux, because then something improbable and interesting will happen.

Explore a museum/art gallery/aquarium with: Imraldera. It's something different from her daily routine, but still on-brand for her.

Go the library/bookstore with: Artham; we're having a grand time making fun of the bad books (and bad poetry) and trading recommendations on the good stuff. I am also introducing him to the Tales of Goldstone Wood; I think some of it will resonate. (You'd think I would've said Imraldera, but let's be real; the woman spends ALL her time in the library. Let's let her do something else.)
