1. Gar doesn’t have very clear memories of his parents, but from what he does remember, they were more worried about their work than they were about him. They treated his sickness and his mutation as more of a science project, despite the fact their child’s life was at stake. That’s why admitting his parents are dead doesn’t bother him all too much.
2. When Gar was in the “care” of his guardian, he always claims that the man was only ever emotionally/mentally abusive. However, at one point his guardian shoved him down a flight of stairs and consequently gave the young changeling a concussion. He doesn’t remember the incident at all, and believes that he simply tripped down the stairs himself.
