Eventually, Merlin came to pause when he noticed a large frame in one of the rooms. He walked towards it and observed its placement. It was hung over a series of what he presumed to be artifacts of the palace. Oddly enough, the frame was empty. It was just a husk of something that was supposed to be there. People who were supposed to be in that frame. But they weren't.
