Lore Dump: Casmir
Casmir is the smallest of the Providences. Unlike Improvidence the small population of Casmir is caused by accessibility rather than status and is another potential MC origin.
Casmir is a sleepy town located in the center of the largest forest in the country. The forest itself (Naturally named Casmir Forest) acts as a living enchanted entity. Crawling with horrors beyond human comprehension Casmir forest it known for it's cryptids, ever changing landscape, and impossible size. A few survivors have reported incidents such as but not limited to:
Roads that go on forever accompanied by disturbing road signs
Giant deer
Doppelgangers
A hotel filled with ghost
Radio show that only plays the screams of loved ones with occasional breaks of Nightcore remixes
Man-eating plants
Sheep, goats, and rabbits with front facing eyes
Abandoned churches that are larger on the inside than the outside
A woman who only speaks in gargled gasps and shrieks
Naturally with so many nightmares waiting behind those trees and Casmir has almost no Imports or exports. While there is internet and cell service, very rarely does contact breach the small community of Casmir. There is one post man and locals are advised to close their curtains and wait for him to pick up and drop of their mail from seven to eight am on the first Wednesday of every month.
The town however is only a bit safer. Their local government is considered corrupt by some and negligent by most. The small community is infested with secrets that might get you killed and potentially mind breaking sights you'd be better off never witnessing.
The locals of Casmir generally lead very sheltered lives and go about their days ignoring what lies just beyond the tree line to the best of their abilities. Every once in a while something gets in or someone disappears, but such is a small price to pay for the cozy warm community built inside.
