the  idea  that  elsa  ( @umvetrinn​ )  and  alexi  ( @tornsurvivors​ )  get to  sometimes  cuddle  with  shadow!monster  emily  is  both  absolutely  hilarious  and  terrifying  to  me.   but  in  all  seriousness ,    anyone  else  that  comes  upon  emily  shadow  walking  WILL  be  terrified.   like  this  is  probably  out  of  nowhere ,    just  some  shadow  creature  skirt  skiiirting  along.   most  times  she  either  uses  it  to  a)   be  purposely  terrifying  and  b)   move  from  one  room  to  another  without  being  seen.   but  certain  people  that  know  her  and  have  come  to  understand  that  she  has  developed  this  power   ( @blcckbrd​  too ) ,    can’t  particularly  stay  terrified.    it’s  just  emily  kaldwin  and  emily  will  always  have  this  certain  speck  of  terrifying ,    the  void  about  her ,    but  these  are  people  she  loves  and  the  terrifying  aspect  just  won’t  stick.     i’m  also  very  fond  of  the  idea  that  while  i’m  not  a  high  chaos  fan ,    emily  still  sticks  to  the  idea  that  sometimes  people  have  to  be  terrified.   that  there  are  people  out  there  that  are  corrupt  and  the  only  way  to  keep  her  family  together ,    to  keep  this  throne  IS  to  be  absolutely  terrifying.    so ,    what  exactly  does  that  mean ?     it  means  that  around  corvo ,    elsa ,    and   alexi  in  particular  she  doesn’t  hide  her  powers.    she  may  around  everyone  else ,    but  she  will  not  lose  the  ability  of  the  mark.    but ,    more  importantly  (  and  driven  by  @carvedbones​ )  emily  is  actually  part  void.    her  powers  point  towards  it.   she  isn’t  just  another  Marked ,    she  literally  holds  more  void  power  than  just  Marked  power  has  previously  given.    a  part  of  her  understands  this ,    so  there  are  moments  she’ll  separate  from  society  as  a  whole ,    from  life  even.    enter  the  void.

miscellaneous asks.

       well, of course that’s him. still, daniel fluffs up like a pleased bird, the master of soaking up compliments and good wishes. he can’t blame oliver for being overcome with lust. after all, his hair is looking especially sleek today, falling in just the way he likes it; for the other’s benefit, daniel tosses it over his shoulder, smiling like the cat who got the cream (or the god?).

“    aren’t  you  too  big  of  a  deity  to  find  yourself  visiting  your  subjects?    ”         it  is  possible  that  the  question  is  asked  not  for  him  personally,   but  more  for  herself.    emily  kaldwin  is  the  empress  that  runs  across  rooftops  to  view  her  subjects.     she  is  the  lover  that  covers  her  face  in  a  mask  to  visit  her  QUEEN  of  the  cold  north,  a  trek  it  would  seem  an  empress  shouldn’t  be  making.    there  is  no  sass,   no  sarcasm,   no  anger,   only  a  profound  curiosity  in  the  question.     she  is,   after  all,   more  emily  kaldwin  in  this  moment  than  she  is  empress.    sitting  at  her  desk,   pouring  over  work,   trying  to  find  a  way  to  bend  a  broken  heart  &  torn  spirit;     something  that  can  not  be  healed  because  lives  just  don’t  come  back  from  the  dead.

The towering Ekon observed the seemingly young man for a moment, his unnatural senses already telling him that something wasn’t quite... normal. Not that the undead physical had any real right to judge, stood there with a silent heart beneath his chest and stolen blood circulating his veins, what was normality when death was no longer the end, but simply the beginning? 

“Given your current locale, outside and alone in these... unforgiving streets at night, one can safely assume that all is not well.” Jonathan commented in a slightly more mild tone, the very real bout of concern both lightly laced along the edge of his tongue as well as being etched into the small amount of tension between his brows. 

              the girl stands still as a statue, skin mottled a faint blue akin to granite.  sunken eyes watch him from a distance, no particular emotion aside... perhaps curiosity.   ❝ i don’t want to talk about it.  ❞  she’s intentionally quiet, hoping to shake off this man from digging any deeper into her past.
