I think its because hell's kitchen actually was a really bad place for a long time. The media has not really caught up to it. I've definitely seen a think piece before about how jessica jones portrayed hell's kitchen to be so much worse than it actually is modernly
yeah itâs frustrating though like
yeah Hellâs Kitchen still has a reputation that definitely drives down property values, but âcheapâ property values in Manhattan are still................................not actually cheap at all.Â
I looked into the housing market around Hellâs Kitchen because I want to work for Marvel--I figured Iâd check it out, and also check out any tenements or boarding houses they have there (which, Hellâs Kitchen actually has some pretty nice communal living ftr, itâs just like....all for students, mostly) and like.....................it doesnât have âManhattanâ prices (because thatâs like âhello you can only afford this if youâre a CEOâ) but itâs still more expensive than most places in Queens or Brooklyn.Â
But hey, you can buy a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom in Hellâs Kitchen for $379,000 (lmfao)
