Have you ever noticed how often we pray for revival... while arguing with other Christians? That thought stopped me in my tracks. We say we want God to move across our nation, but Jesus' final prayer wasn't for bigger churches or better politics. It was that His followers would be one. Paul warned the church in Corinth about choosing sides. Joshua 22 shows how assumptions almost led God's people into civil war. And 2,000 years later... we're still tempted to let preferences become divisions. I'm not saying doctrine doesn't matter. It absolutely does. But somewhere along the way we've forgotten that personal convictions aren't always universal commands, and traditions aren't the Gospel. Maybe before we pray for revival "out there," we should ask God to remove the rivalry in our own hearts. Because rivals don't build kingdoms. They destroy them.
