Lucas had finished putting the last bag in the car and walked back into their home. “Bella, we got to go. We still have to drive to the airport.”he said, walking up the stairs trying to find his pregnant wife.

Belle had been worried. It wasn’t like Adam to be this late.      Instead of pacing, which she had already done earlier in the      evening, she now sat by the fireplace in the sitting room just      off the main entrance with a direct eyeline to the door. When      it finally opened and he stepped in, her voice called out, “And      where have you been?” She didn’t look up from her book until      she’d finished speaking and, try as she might, both her tone      and gaze showed her worry.

Adam didn’t want to be gone for so long. After all, it was snowing and it wasn’t as though he wanted to be forced to spend his night in the village. Any time he had to spend the evening away from Belle he was plagued with nightmares.

❝ Of course, I think you could use a little break from that one Mr. Harker. ❞  Lucy didn’t know what Mina saw in him, she actually found him to be quite boring. Perhaps it was because they differed in their perception of the world, Jonathan refrained from the pleasures of the world, whereas Lucy liked to indulge in them.  ❝ After all, I believe it has been quite a while since we have seen each other. As much as I do love your telegrams, they simply cannot compare to spending time with you in the flesh. ❞

     “Perhaps you are right.” Marguerite agreed, a blush      coloring her cheeks pink as her French accent brushed      her words, “You forget that I am still becoming used to      speaking English all the time. I don’t yet have a knowing      of meanings as a British person would. So I ask your      pardon and for your understanding while I learn.”

“I meant only to inform you of the mistake, Madame. Of that, I assure you.”

There are a great many things of which he would wish people to inform him none more so than all the things she has not said to him… and yet, still, what-ever feelings may or may not exist towards his wife and indeed there is a tug of something at his heart when he notices that blush, still he would not wish her to be embarrassed by misspeaking in front of others. 

How many years it has been since those thirteen hours had passed? Since those words had been spoken. The ones that began it all and the ones that ended it. 

His power had been waning, for years, even before meeting Sarah. Who believed in Goblins anymore? Who asked them to carry away their children? 

Practically no one.

And so he wastes away in his castle, wilts and atrophies, surrounded by all of the goblins and their stupidity… waiting.

Rare as it is, however, as soon as someone even nears saying the right words, the Goblins perk up. And once the words are well and truly said… Well. Off they go…

Only… they realize there is no child. And that the one who had spoken the words had said them prior to this night…

Which is the same thing their king realizes as soon as the window slings open to see no child and––

     The Baron considered what she said before he nodded.       “Very much so.” he agreed. He hadn’t been to Paris in       ages so he couldn’t help but agree when she wanted to       go. However, something about the city made him restless,       like he wanted to go on a thrilling journey while still within       the beautiful capital. “What sort of adventure did you       have in mind?”
