carol ferris is a self-proclaimed daddy's girl. carol became star sapphire when she was mind controlled into becoming the queen of a planet consisting entirely of morally dubious immortal women. carol agreed to be their queen after growing sick of the constant misogyny she experienced as green lanterns girlfriend and as the female ceo of ferris aircraft. despite being the literal queen of the planet she was more of a pet than anything who was immediately cast aside when the zamarons decided that mating with the guardians would be a better use of their time (yes that is what happened to the zamarons in canon and it sucked terribly) after they left carol freaked out and killed several people, including katma tui, a korugarian revolutionary, one of hal jordan's best friends, and john stewart's wife. when she was finally freed from the star sapphire gem she lived with hal for a bit and had night terrors that consisted of her having an argument with her dad about him leaving her (like the zamarons) and her presumed dead mother. at some point in these dreams she would be sitting on his lap as he praised her. slowly the zamarons would appear in the shadows and call her her terms of endearment like good girl. she began to panic and transformed into star sapphire before she could actually do anything about it. as star sapphire she brutally sliced hal into bits the same way she did against katma. the worst part of this dream is that she loved it. she is disgusted by her own desires. she does not know how much of her mind is her own. carol baby you don't have to tell me what happened to you as a kid but i think i know. i really think i do

i really really really enjoy the undertale/deltarune character parallels!! one thing that caught my eye recently is the connection between dr Carol Holiday and ut Toriel and the ways they deal with their grief directly contrasting each other. both are experiencing situations of a similar caliber. Toriel lost her husband while Carol is in the stages of losing hers. Toriel abandoned her past and duties while Carol holds onto it. Toriel forms extreme emotional attachments towards every human child that falls while Carol cuts herself off from the child she has left. Toriel hides her grief behind a wall of kindness and care while Carol constructed an emotional barrier made of harsh actions between her and everyone else. Toriel purposefully left her position of authority while Carol drowns herself in it. Toriel lets Frisk stay in Asriel's and Chara's room but locks Asgore's, not even hinting at him while Carol keeps Dess' room strictly off limits and has more than one door locked. Toriel lets you wander around in her house, letting you find things by yourself, the Holdiay home is basically confined to the living room. Toriel's entire spiel as well as magic is warm whilst Carol's is cold. essentially, both characters are opposite sides of the same coin. both are mothers. both are changed through loss. both are feared (eg the Froggit in the Ruins stating how monsters are too intimidated to talk to her). both are alone. both want to protect their children. Toriel is able to overcome her grief by the end of undertale. will Carol follow suit, or, acting out the parallel path, be consumed by hers? that's what deltarune is, after all. a parallel.

if carol ferris was real i would go on a dating app and catfish her with pictures of hal (i know he's never touched a phone in his life shut up) and when she goes to meet up with him i'd lie and say i was secretly her father catfishing her from the hospital as a test to see if she was worthy of ferris aircraft and that i was so. so disappointed in her
