She receives it in a box in her bedroom, reluctantly impressed before rapidly closing it; later, frustrated with the clothes in her closet for the ball he invated her to, she looks over her shoulder at the box, hesitating. She appears in the ball wearing the dress with two long white gloves and her hair curled in an elaborated updo, Klaus looks at her in amazement and she walks past him, awkward. The two of them dance, with Caroline a bit stiff and averting her eyes and Klaus staring at her mesmerized while they converse. Outside in the night Caroline is covering her shoulders with the shawl and looking at a horse with a smile when Klaus approaches; later, she decidely walks away from him while he looks at her leaving. Back inside Klaus shows her some paintings, and she asks about the bracelet he gave her in her birthday, with the camera focusing on it. Later she, angry at him, takes it off and returns it. She returns to her room, sitting in front of her mirror while she leaves a voicemail for Tyler; after hanging up she notices another package from Klaus on top of her bed. It turns out to be a drawing of her with a horse with the message “Thank you for your honesty, Klaus”, which she holds in her hands and leaves her speechless.]
