A Helluva Reimagine

I would say that I have different favourites for different things and aspects.

1. I would have to say my favourite visual redesign is Valentino Belmonte. (Tumblr glitched out and deleted this paragraph so I’m rushing this one) I chose to change his design from a moth to a peacock to fit the damnedverse’s rules of Lust Sinners have bird designs with blue colour pallets. I think the animal itself fits my take on his personality and the idea of a peacocks train replacing Val’s wing-cape is such a stunning idea I’ll probably never be able to draw. A close second is Vincent Hindsite’s soul/face eater design. I feel like it really plays into his analogue horror + cannibalism vibes from the original and his facelessness (besides a giant mouth) shows his dedication to radio over video. I’m also really proud of the decision to make him see the world monochromatically.

2. My favourite biological redesign is Vox Populi (another I’m yet to post about) as I’ve changed certain things around the mechanics over him changing his head and having gills to actually make sense biologically. A close second is Lucifer Shacar, who actually needs his cane to walk after his fall and has a multitude of viable and hidden weaknesses because of that day, I’m unsure if his cane serves the same purpose in canon but is just not being explicitly stated?

3. My current favourite human-backstory redesign is kind of undecided since hardly any have been confirmed in canon so it’s more of what I came up with on my own. Sooo

4. This could be due to recency bias but my favoruite ship revamp is Widowers. I’ve chosen to merge SnakeBomb and HuskerDust into a ship between Basil Princeton and Charlie Eclipse to remove clutter from the cast and have more defined and expanded relationships and I have grown to love their dynamic and angst so much! Close seconds are (of course) the main two couples A&E and Carmathan as well as what I’m going to with Lyra and the Exorcist Commander later on in the story.

5. Overall, I would have to say my favourite current ret-con has to be Charlie Morningstar becoming Carma Ben Shacar. From her out-of-place name becoming Carma, to Ben Shacar meaning ‘son (child) of Morning’, to her design making her look less like a gender swap of Lucifer. I also just love what I’ve decided to change about her lore and power ranking (some of this yet to be revealed) as well as the dynamic I’ve managed to make out of the Princess of Pride (the embodiment of confidence) dating the Duke of Envy (the embodiment of admiration). I also adore her new dynamic with her father, making the moments of parent-child interactions between them feel all the more earned.

In short, I love them all equally but some are currently more developed than others. However, don’t take this love as hesitancy to kill them off like certain writers.

A Hazbin Hotel Rewrite

So, since I changed Vaggie’s (now called Valerie) purpose in the story, having her live in Heaven now and all, Carma has no love interest at the start of the story now.

You could argue that Carma doesn’t need a love interest and that is true. However, I don’t wish to miss the opportunity to write a main couple that are already together at the start of the story. I also found a way to add some representation and interesting dynamics in Vaggie’s absence.

It’s a simple answer for a simple question, really. Who else is Charlie Morningstar’s love interest?

Duke Seviathan Von Eldritch of Envy

Original Character:

Seviathan Von Eldritch is Charlie Morningstar’s ex-boyfriend in the canon show. He is the son of Frederick and Bethesda Von Eldritch — a powerful family in Hell, who are close friends with the Morningstars. The couple met when they attended Hell School together and broke up due to unknown reasons. Hell School has been removed from the canon show’s lore so we won’t know their real history until he appears in the show. The HB epsiode title “Exes and Ohs/Xs and Os” is also reused from the original episode about Seviathan. His sister is Hellsa Von Eldritch, an enemy of Charlie who is said to be based on Regina George from Mean Girls.

The Damnded’s Endeavour Seviathan:

Seviathan Von Eldritch is the fourth of seven children to be born from a Seven Deadly Sin. He is the son of Princess Leviathan Von Eldritch and one of her favourite Incubi companions. Leviathan is the Sin/Princess of Envy and married to Prince Baphomet Von Eldritch, however he is not Seviathan’s blood father as God forbid them from having children. Seviathan has two sisters, Duchess Sweit Von Eldritch and Princess Sowar Von Eldritch, who are also children to Leviathan and the Incubi.

Due to his mixed biology of his mother being an Angel Sea Monster and his father being an Incubi, Seviathan has the powers and appearance stereotypically associated with Sirens in media. However, he is never referred to as one in universe as Sirens are completely different things in Christianity.

Seviathan is the ninth most powerful demon in Hell.

Seviathan and Carma have been dating since the 1600s, so roughly 400 years by the start of the show. Despite being the children of polar opposites (Pride and Envy), they have held strong in those four centuries. However, it is important to note that Lucifer and Leviathan are unaware of their relationship when the show starts.

Lucifer thinks the two broke up and Leviathan never knew in the first place.

Seviathan is fully supportive of the Carma’s idea for the hotel and makes plans to promote it in the Envy Ring once it is proven possible.

I mentioned in my Carma post that all children of Sins represent a branch of their parent’s Sin. Seviathan, son of Envy, represents Admiration.

A Hazbin Rewrite Update

If feel like, now that I have fully explained how I have changed the Exterminations, I can finish explain my changes with Valerie (Vaggie) and Chaggie.

Valerie is still an Exorcists Angel when the story begins, I simply thought that it would be more fun for me to write, not because that it was incorrect for the original show to have Vaggie be a former one.

I did not “replace” Vaggie with Seviathan, he is dating Carma (Charlie) because Carma and Valerie haven’t met yet. And Seviathan canonically dated Charlie before Vaggie.

However, if you’re such an avid Chaggie shipper that you can’t handle seeing a rewrite of Charlie with another character, that’s fine. I understand. I’m like that with other ships too. Feel free to ignore posts about Seviathan and Carma or ignore this whole blog. Im not forcing you to follow me.

Also, yes, Carma is still Bisexual in this. I thought it would be good to represent Bis who date the opposite sex as they have been getting “disowned” by their community recently.
