Carmageddon: Rogue Shift (2026, 34BigThings)
I've been really enjoying this spin-off despite it not sharing much in common with previous Carmageddons, other than featuring cars that smash into each other and some of those cars being inspired by ones from the old games.
It's a fun mix of vehicular combat racing and a roguelite. It reminds me a lot of Full Auto, the Xbox 360/PS3 game from 2006, and the movie Death Race with Jason Statham.
My only gripes so far are the lack of multiplayer and that the handling is a bit rough specifically with the first car, the others just suffer from oversteering.
So I decided to watch Death Race 2000 & man, this was a really good movie that I can see why this was likely the blueprint to games like Twisted Metal & Carmageddon but also man does it say a lot about the state of society I won't go over but it really holds up in that aspect & also Frankenstein is a dope protagonist that doesn't run over innocent people & only the scum people that host these destructive races which is dope! Plus I was shock to know Sylvester Stallone was in this movie, tho yeah highly reccomend this especially to people that were into Twisted Metal & to see where Carmageddon got its roots from
Captain Commando & Carmageddon are gonna be an omen by what 2026 is gonna be like

Suddenly, I regret not making that Carmageddon: The Dark Ages video about the post-Carmageddon 2 entries into the franchise. Well, looks like I may need to dust that idea off. (I think Rogue Shift will be a good game. I'm not sure it'll be a good #Carmageddon game.)
