I like to go look at the blogs of people who like my writing posts even if they don't follow me.

It always absolutely slays me when their blog says "proshippers DNI" --especially when whatever they liked had a tag on it that said "antis get lost".

I really think people don't know what "proshipper" means anymore. That they think it means you, personally, believe that other humans should be out there having unethical sex with kids, animals, and people they have real power over. I don't, of course.

Once again for the kids in the back, a proshipper is simply a person who thinks that if you don't like the fiction someone else has written (or the art they've created, as long as it hasn't been created in such a way that you can't tell from looking at it that there's not a real human or animal in that picture), you should just leave it alone and not harass other people over stuff that is happening to fictional characters.

That's it. I don't like the word much, because if you're going to call me a pro I feel like I ought to get paid, but...that's all it means.

you can shut the fuck up about "proships" "harming victims" when you turn around and tell someone they aren't a real victim because they like dark fiction.

you don't actually care about survivors, you care about yourself, and you care about being perfectly comfortable every second of your life.

another example of antis who make bold accusations that just because people engage in fiction in a certain way means they'll also not understand basic consent irl. Fictional characters can't consent because they're not real.

Real people should not be harassed or antagonised because that could impact a person, cause lasting harm and has an impact. And can people use fandom the same way as pedos use candy and puppies to lead you to a van? YES.

Which is why its so damaging to conflate fiction and reality and waterdown what grooming/paedophilia/romanticisation is! Antis don't realise they are cultivating a Anonymous culture of people saying one thing but having a secret account and indulging in said thing. Of making people quiet, hide away, removing spaces for victims who want to process their trauma through writing and find others like group therapy- and yes their is a danger to it of certain people taking advantage of them and people do admit that the things in place isn't perfect.

But its like telling someone to bulldoze down a national park but have NO alternatives and remove a space for everybody and with facism on the rise and power of speech being tested- why would anyone want to encourage censorship-

not only that, anti's have proven time and again, that they have no awareness of the content they consume. If a story presented itself in a certain way that had paedophiliac subtext and was popular they would defend it. And yet people who just write stories making the subtext, text only to make it more obvious they defend it and demonise the people who can understand that the story is about sa/colonisation/etc.

People don't want artwork of minorsXadults everywhere that people can see them esp on public spaces, porshippers want it REGULATED knowing if you remove something they'll just change the name of it. Its not defending it, its stating the obvious of seeing patterns and knowing how its going to happen.

The REASON proshippers made shit like ao3 and the tagging system was because we were FLASHBANGED during the 2000's and saw both real and fake porn/gore and made TAGGING to AVOID that shit.
