Caribbean nationalities
In a workplace where there’s a variety of people from different Caribbean islands, it is very difficult to guess where each person is from because everyone is professional and speaks fluent proper English.
However, the quickest way (not necessarily the best) to know where someone is from originally is to make them angry.They will respond in their native accent forthwith-cuss word and all. Trust me, it’s hilarious sometimes. By that time you can say “oh, she’s a Trini then.” Or “A Bajan he be.” Lol

i love seeing Caribbean dialect written just as how it's actually spoken.
because this is how i speak. alternating between my trini dialect and standard english.
Reading famous Caribbean authors who use nation language in their work is a validation of our culture. I wonder, when I submit stories to international journals, if they think that my uses of nation language are spelling and grammatical errors. But it is so important that the rhythm of Caribbean dialect is present in my stories. I want that when an audience hears or reads my story, they hear my Caribbean voice.
