     sabine isn’t the emotionally touchy-feely type of person.  but STILL, it’s a little hard for her to not be concerned when zeb says things like that--or well, anybody aboard the ghost.  but zeb, like sabine, is NOT an emotionally touchy-feely person, unless under extreme circumstances.

finding himself hunched over behind the cover of a disabled tank, he gritted his teeth in pain — the strain of keeping himself steady showing in the way that he stumbled forward. of all the times that rex had found himself in an unlucky situation, this had to be one of them? in the midst of a rather harrowing battle against a separatist battalion, one of those damned clankers had been able to hit their mark, albeit not very well. the blast had scorched his armor and bled through to his blacks, effectively burning and wounding the captain. 

upon hearing the concerned voice of fives, he glanced over at the arc trooper, his mouth opening to reply before another stinging pain shot through his body, causing him to seethe in pain. “we have a mission to do, fives. there’s no time for me to rest.”

it  occurs  to  her,  albeit  distantly,  that  she  can’t  remember  the  last  time  she  felt  so  impossibly,  roaringly  alive.  here,  on  some  all  but  abandoned,  seemingly  wholly  forgotten  planet  hidden  within  the  outer  rim  and  with  blaster  readied  in  her  hand,  she  feels  she  is  nearly  soaring  with  adrenaline.  still,  the  senate  mission  has  proven  an  𝒂𝒃𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒆 & 𝒖𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓   failure,  though  the  arrival  of  obi-wan  and  anakin,  (who  she  notes  could  hardly  focus  on  anything  until  padme’s  safety  had  been  ensured)  alongside  a  battalion  of  clones  had  ensured  her  there  would  at  least  be  something  to  salvage  out  of  this. 

“i’ve  never  had  to  be  rescued  before,”  she  confesses  with  a  quick  adjustment  to  her  blaster  pistol,  “much  less  by  a  jedi,  for  that  matter.  here’s  to  hoping  senator  amidala  and  i  don’t  go  making  a  habit  out  of  it.  hm?”  dorme  allows  herself  a  brief  flash  of  a  grin  as  the  distant  clamor  of  droids  grows  louder  and  louder.  

she  thinks  obi-wan  looks  strangely  peaceful,  a  beacon  of  calm  amidst  chaos,  as he  turns  to  her.  “they’re  going  to  be  sorry they  picked  this  fight.”  the  quiet  confidence  that  wraps  around  his  words  quells  the  sliver  of  anxiety  that  twists  in  her  stomach.  she  is  not  one  to  trust,  trusts  nearly  no  one  but  𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔,  but  obi-wan  kenobi.  yes,  he  can  be  trusted  entirely,  without  reserve.
