SUBLIME CINEMA #374 - MAUVAIS SANG
Early Leos Carax shenanigans, one of his best films (hard to rank them, they’re all out of this world). Seeing Denis Lavant as a young man is interesting; Binoche and Delpy have aged beautifully and Lavant has leaned into his inherent grotesque - frazzled hair, still smoking, pockmarked, but with his same intensity and circus trained Gumby-like mannerisms, plus his trademark flexibility. Can’t take your eyes away from him.
