One year ago, @devinecarama and @luvjonezmusic teamed up for the #16BarsForBreonna project. This turned into a 50 day campaign of original verses and beats for calls of accountability and justice for the Louisville police department’s murder of Breonna Taylor. . While Breonna’s family received a $12 million wrongful death settlement from the city of Louisville, no police were jailed or punished outside of losing their jobs or suspension. On June 1, 2021, Louisville law enforcement pulled up on a BBQ to enforce a curfew and murdered an unarmed Black man named David Mcatee. Needless to say, this fight never ends and police continue to target and murder Black people from Kentucky to Oregon and around the country and globe . Did I mention the Camellias in Lexi Lane? I planted them to form a peaceful walk in the Springtime to celebrate her short life and her vibrancy. Every Spring the Camellias light up my world, just as Lexi did. I under planted them with daffodils, as daffodils make me smile.This is the first time I ever cut them for a bouquet to enjoy them inside.
