Sorry if you’ve clarified this already, but when you said Jaune fits into the roles of Soldier, Poet and King did you mean he fit into all of them, or just king since you mentioned he’s wearing a crown?

Also what do you think the other members of team rwby or jnpr would fit into?

Jaune fits into all of them, King is just a bit of a special case

Most people touch one role strongly, sometimes two situationally. Almost no one aligns cleanly with all three. Jaune does. Unlike most people, Jaune doesn't SHIFT between roles, he holds them simultaneously. This is why the Ever After shaped him into the Rusted Knight instead of rejecting or breaking him

The crown works kind of like a focus, forcing the Narrative to focus on HIM instead of spilling out onto other people. THIS is the real reason why the Narrative (all the fae rules and bullshit) pretty much only effects HIM, because Jaune is CHOOSING to make it all focus on him (because of course he is) By wearing the crown, he is CHOOSING to be the King, making the Narrative shine its spotlight on him and not mess with anyone around him

The crown was also something he started wearing in the Ever After after he was instinctively rejecting the role of King. This was Jaune Arc at the lowest point of his life, he didn't feel like he deserved to be a leader, he didn't feel like he deserved to be responsible for people. The Narrative wasn't a fan of that

Because Jaune fit Soldier / Poet / King too perfectly, the Ever After stopped asking him to lead and started enforcing the role. When he tried to refuse leadership people were hurt “offscreen”, plans collapsed without him, and responsibility just boomeranged back harder

Not as punishment. CORRECTION. The Ever After’s logic was basically "If you are the King and you do not rule, the realm suffers. If the realm suffers, the King is at fault."

Jaune didn’t start wearing the crown because he wanted authority. He wore it because it made the punishment stop and made other people stop getting hurt "on his watch". The crown focuses narrative pressure and makes it so consequences attach directly to him

Just imagining a literal trash-boy Jaune robot becoming absolutely enamored with a floating and even more graceful Weiss is so endearing to me.

(This movie may have formed my views on relationship dynamics more than I thought lol)

Since I can’t imagine them as bots, I’m just imagining ultimate farm/trash boy Jaune wearing patched and dirty overalls and a muddy white t-shirt and big work gloves and boots with dirt smudged all over his cheeks and fly-away curls and absolute adoring awe in his eyes

Meanwhile Weiss is flawless, not a speck on her, sleek white dress and crown (for communicating with her boss), she’s so angelic she literally walks an inch or so off the ground at all time, confused and endeared by this bumbling clumsy guy

Also, this is good, because it’s another “Jaune is alone for a million years” AU

Oh my god you’re so fucking right. And the best part it could go either way

The shattered remains of Jaune’s sword are in the fusions’s hand. The bare one. Cinder’s hand. And the blade is at their throat.

She can’t breathe. He’s trying to kill them both. Making them look Weiss in the eye so she gets the powers and trying to kill them both.

Their hand is shaking. Cinder is many things, but she’s always wanted to live. The blade gets within an inch of their neck and stops.

Their single eye goes empty as the fire flickers out.

Through the agony and war of emotions, Weiss can see a flicker of expression on the fusion’s face. A terrified but determined grimace that she KNOWS is Jaune. She’s seen that face before, at Beacon, at Haven, hell, in the nightmare that’s been the past few days

And before Weiss or Cinder can stop them, the fusion meets her eyes, and then throws themself off the edge of the platform.
