In a universe where everyone is born with numbers on their wrists counting down to when they’ll meet their soulmate, send me 00:00:00 for my muses reaction to their numbers hitting zero when they meet yours.

The longer and longer he spent in Hydra’s care, the closer and closer it got to the counter hitting zero when the only people around where Hydra. Were Hydra, were wrong, were people he did not want his soul to be bound to for all entirety. Did not want to be made to listen to, did not want another tie holding him to them. Another round of control for them to bind him down with.

Thirty six days. Thirty six days left on the counter.

Thirty six days on his arm, and Sokovia rises into the sky, and Wanda’s voice screaming in his ear, and the darkness comes and-….and…and…..

He wakes up, and twenty seven hours have passed on the clock hanging on the wall, but the time on his arm hasn’t changed. Hasn’t moved. Those numbers the days counting down, they’re stilll…….

They start again, after they pull him off the machines, and Wanda’s red powers aren’t what keeps his heart beating.

Thor calls it a fragmented connection. The time he spent past the gate of Vahalla, and that his soulmate will be glad to have him back again. That who was meant to be his will still be his. The time Wanda spent keeping him alive merely put a pause to that, for the universe did not know if he would die or breath on his own again.

He breaths now, and the numbers slide down.

Thirty five days.

Twenty days.

Twelve days.

Three days.

It’s only part of an hour now, and he’s walking through the SHIELD portion of the Avengers facility after a briefing with Maria Hill, and he’s trying not to think about how low the numbers on his arm will be getting, trying not to think about how soon it it, trying not to think about how-
