Captain Phasma: did I mention I'm still working on this? ππPLEASE: I am NOT asking for advice on this build, see explanation below ππ That's my little "inspirational Phasma" sketch on my massive progress checklist! I have a "finish by" date in mind (end of summer), and I am plowing through when I have even just an hour on evenings/weekends, along with 3 others I've started! The first thing I've tried to do is adjust fittings: this thing is HUGE. It's made from flexible fiberglass, so I've been cutting down some pieces and taking them in as I can, but even then I will be lining them with anything from 1-2" foam so the pieces don't rattle around on me. You can see how large some of it is, there's a piece on my calf and there's so much room! On top of that, I've Plasti-dip'ed the insides of the armor, because the rough side of flexible fiberglass was shedding off on my hands/arms when I worked, and it was making me crazy! It's much easier to handle, now. I'm also carving the little rectangles and details, and have attached all of my tabs. ππI have been super hesitant to continue posting my progress pics, but I WANT to so I'm starting again. I noticed that every time I did, Star Wars dudes would come blazing in with all kinds of unsolicited advice. I've sadly noticed this almost entirely happens only with Star Wars armor. I don't care about how 501st-ers or Mandalorians do it. I don't care if they'd do it a different way, or don't agree with my choice of materials, or mount theirs in a different way. For a while I was deleting comments, then I just gave up. Guys (and yes, it was only guys) STAHP. Let me do this my way. I've made hundreds of costumes, I'll manage. I'm having fun, and that's all that matters in cosplay! ππ #phasma #captainphasma #captainphasmacostume #phasmacosplay #phasmacostume #tfa #theforceawakens #lastjedi #thelastjedi #starwars #starwarscosplay #celebrations #starwarscelebrations #starwarscostume #armor #flexiblefiberglass #cosplayarmor #costumearmor #cosplay #cosplayprogress
