Storms apparently weren’t frequent on the planet they were visiting. And apparently the databases were wrong. Very wrong. For almost three days, the landing party had been stuck on the planet’s surface due to torrential storms and high winds. Unable to get a signal through the cave they had hunkered down in-not to mention the bubbling cauldron of storm clouds gathered above-Kirk had finally had enough.
After declaring that she was going to try and get a signal through, she had upright stood up and left the camp where she, Riker, and three other crew members had bunkered down in. Giving no though to the situation whatsoever, William tumbled out into the storm after her, not even bothering to grab any form of raincoat whatsoever.
Jamie looked more than a little annoyed, repeatedly hitting the locator device against her hand in attempts to get it to work. The machinery, however, had other ideas, fizzling softly before dying out.
"Damn it," Jamie frowned, throwing the device onto the ground and placing her hands on her hips. She was never happy to be stuck in one location for extended amounts of time. Her ice-blue eyes turned to half-heartedly glare at the Ensign. "What is it?"
He pursed his lips. He really had no good reason for being out in the storm. “I-uh, just making sure that you aren’t going to get blown away in the storm.”
"You’re ridiculous." It was almost impossible for Kirk to stay upset for long periods of time. [Discounting Khan.] She motioned for him to walk over, holding her hand out.
William easily laced his fingers with hers, a small smile on his face. “How long do you think the storm will last?”
"Think anyone’s watching."
"Good." Riker turned to face Jamie, a smirk on his lips. He leaned down, gently brushing their lips together, hand holding the back of her neck as he did so. "I’d hate to have to explain this." He murmured, leaving a warm kiss on her lips.
