i’ve been using tae kim’s guide and imabi. tae kim’s guide is little bit simpler, so if you start with the complete guide you’ll get a pretty solid foundation in the basics, but it’s not a finished guide. the grammar guide is finished but is meant as a companion to books/other guides. imabi is a little more comprehensive. i haven’t poked my nose into the genki books yet but they’re recommended by a lot of learners. (i have pdfs i can give you. or if you want to spend the money they sell them on amazon and at kinokuniya) jisho.org is a great dictionary kanji damage is a little ridiculous but good to identify kanji lookalikes (they also have mnemonics if that’s helpful for you) the japanese page has some tiny simple grammar lessons and a good selection of practice materials like childen’s books etc basically i stockpile resources like crazy so if you ever need something feel free to hmu haha (also im taking this space to say learn your damn radicals because apparently a lot of people dont do this before trying to learn kanji and that’s just dumb. learn your radicals. you don’t have to memorize them or learn every single one, but familiarize yourself with at least the simpler ones. and learn the general stroke order pattern (top to bottom, left to right) while you’re at it so you can write kanji without having to check the stroke order for every one. these are good and important things trust me i studied chinese for two years.)
