I’m really bad at shading but I yayyy the freak is finished
Some general world building:
Full Name: Jonas the Weezerling
Weezerlings don’t do last names
Weezerling aging systems are the same as humans, but they do no celebrate birthdays
Gender/Pronouns: Male (he/him)
Role: Captain of the Betsy-II
Jonas is 5'6”, which is actually seen as the average height for a Weezerling, though he looks short compared to other species
Bioluminescence: Faint glowing spots on face, neck, tail, arms, legs, and back—flicker when feeling strong emotionally. Colors indicate his emotions
Notably only has two eyes—a sign of deviation from the species standard
Droopy, batlike ears—a sign of deviation from the species standard
Tail is unbarbed—a sign of deviation from the species standard
Always curled or hunched in on himself/Terrible posture
Dog-like nose and very short muzzle
Weezerlings typically have 3 eyes, so due to Jonas only being born with 2, his sight is impaired. He is one of, if not the only, of his species who needs glasses, and didn’t get them until he joined Star Corps because they were not standard for Weezerling medicine
Deeply empathetic to anything and everything
Immature at times (Typical for Weezerling behavior)
Terrified of physical vulnerability, though is very emotionally open and sensitive
Works better under pressure
Very low self-worth due to constant comparison to his species standards and their ideals
Struggles with setting boundaries
Talks to PAT (the ship’s AI) more of as a friend rather than a tool built to help with missions
Fidgets and bites or chew his sleeves
Over-prepares for everything
Empathic Sense & Manipulation: Jonas can detect others' emotional states by touching them. Then, by having contact, he can shift them. Weezerlings are not supposed to do this with the powers they were gifted, and when abused it often backfires. More often than not it amplifies distress or causes unintended shutdowns to himself and others. This also will cause symptoms such as muscle cramps, fatigue, migraines, intense mood swings, etc.
Captain Training: He’s undergone leadership training in tactics, navigation, and diplomacy—but emotionally, he still feels unqualified.
