Ushijima was the type of man to be very blunt about everything. You have stain on your shirt? He’d point it out immediately. You have a pimple? He’d put a sticker on your face. Even if he was blunt he had always paid high attention to you.

Even throughout high school he cared for you deeply, he’d always listen when you needed a shoulder to cry on, he’d buy you chocolates from Tendou, and support you and your educational dreams.

You and Ushijima had been living together for about three years now, two of those married. Your routine is simple. You both go to work him as an athlete and you as (y/jc). First one to get home has to make dinner while the other has to clean as their punishment for getting home late. It was a sweet thing you had going on.

You always knew he loved volleyball. Maybe even a little more than you. He also didn’t like to talk about his feelings at all unless it was about his family or volleyball. You felt seen when he’d hug you or open up with you since it was in his nature to be cold. 

One day you were both on the couch watching a movie where the two main characters got divorced. He slowly turned towards you and said the most loving thing you’ve ever heard as he had that stupid blunt expression on his idiotic cute face, “you know I love you more than volleyball? You’re like entire world.”

“Toshi..” you pouted and pounced on him. Sure it wasn’t much for most but for ushijima? That was going over the limit.

After that day he began to do many things for you. He’d clean, compliment you, or take you out for dinner.

You were at his game waiting for him to finish speaking to the reporters surrounding him. As you watched him on the big screen you noticed his cute awkward smile as the reporters asked him a million questions, “sir, what are your opinions on Ms. Himari Saito who has openly admitted to liking you?”

“I think she should leave me alone because she isn’t as pretty as my wife.” He said bluntly with a sense of humility in his tone. You stared at him up on the T.V. and have never felt more proud to call him your husband.

“Oh I’m so sorry sir.. we didn’t know you were married?” Ushijima stared in disinterest at the reporter as he scanned the crowd for you, and once he finally found you he smiled gently.

You ran up to him and jumped into his arms happy at his answer. “You make me feel so hot when you talk like that..” you whispered and kissed him.
