Early (1 week post-op) result after capsulectomy, capsulorraphy, exchange of implants, and peri-areolar mastopexy (breast lift). The early results are very nice AND it is extremely important to be watchful of these types of operations. Recurrence of the capsule on the right lower pole of the breast is a point of which to be mindful. These are difficult operations with great potential for success, but with the same potential for ongoing problems. A happy patient sent me these photo shoot follow up images after having capsulectomy, removal and replacement of implants, and several rounds of fat grafting. This is a salvage procedure and, so far, I believe we have salvaged the patient’s look. This doesn’t mean that we are out of the woods, but it look like we got her out of trouble. My specialty of revision plastic surgery requires my patients to have patience. It requires them to work with me to get the best result possible when previous operations have not gone well. Greater than three month follow-up after capsulectomies, exchange of implants, scar release with fat grafting and cappsulorraphy (internal pocket suturing). This was a major clean-up after multiple previous operations left this patient with firm, Baker IV capsular contractures. I was able to get the situation stabilized with a fairly aggressive approach to the reconstruction. It has take. Some time to heal and I still need to do some more fat grafting as the patience is very thin. Thus, tissue coverage of the implant is tricky to say the least! Overall, things are going well and I will keep following her progress through this complex healing.
