One dead after being hit by train in San Leandro
SAN LEANDRO — A person was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision with an Amtrak train, authorities said Wednesday. At 4:23 p.m., Capitol Corridor train No. 538 was northbound from San Jose to Sacramento when it struck a person on tracks near San Leandro, Amtrak spokesman Jason Abrams said in a statement.
