Fire Control Tower No. 23 is #NewJersey’s last remaining restorable World War II tower, part of the immense Harbor Defense of the Delaware system known as Fort Miles. Built in 1942, the tower was one of 15 towers, stretching from North Wildwood, NJ to Bethany Beach, DE. Four were in Cape May County – the only other remaining one is inside Cape May’s Grand Hotel. The tower was restored in 2008-2009 by @capemaymac and is open to the public as a historic site. #nj #history #njhistory #historygirl #girl #fortmiles #capemay #capemaypoint #capemaypointnj #thisisnj #realnj #explorenj #explore #adventure #war #defense #concrete #firecontroltower #southjersey #jerseyshore #wwii #worldwarii #architecture #archi_ologie #exitzero (at Fire Control Tower No. 23) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxORl_pn48l/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1k44hk1da6dbh
