Letting y'all know I've changed my username! I've been Caped-Ace forever, and I feel the need for a change. So, as not to confuse or worry anyone that I've dropped dead or something, I present:

Closeness can be defined as both physical and emotional. There is a closeness when two people are holding each other, and there is a closeness when one person opens their heart to another.  So to a stranger, their relationship could be seen as something that reached a level beyond mere closeness.

Aomine and Kuroko were soulmates. Soulmates in the sense that their hearts were drawn to each other, in the sense that their bodies fit perfectly against one another, and in the sense that despite their flaws, their differences, their odd ends, they refused to leave one another. 

Their relationship wasn’t perfect by any means. They’d argue, disagree, and bicker. They’d spend nights turned away from each other in bed, fed up with the other for the evening. They’d complain about each other, the little things they couldn’t stand, but they’d never leave. Their hearts were not suited for other people, after all. 

The closeness they had developed in mind, body, and soul was not something easily gained, and they weren’t going to give that up for a chance at something more pleasing to outside eyes. 

After all, at the end of the day when they were settled with heavy hearts and racing minds, Kuroko would crawl his way into Aomine’s lap, nuzzling just right into the crook of his neck and breathing in the scent he had grown so addicted to over their time together. He’d mumble an apology for something he had already forgotten about, and keep himself close enough to feel the other’s heartbeat against his own chest. 

Aomine would wrap powerful arms around Kuroko to keep him close, burying his nose in soft blue hair, allowing himself to get lost in all of the emotions he struggled to convey.  They were soulmates in the sense they knew the other’s heart without words. They had struggled for years to get to the point they were at now, to a closeness untouched by anyone before them, and a point that no one after them would ever be able reach. 

So beyond their petty arguments and sleepless nights from heavy hearts, they knew the love they had for one another. They knew that despite their differences and the baggage they carried with them, they weren’t going anywhere.  They had reached a level of closeness only meant for soulmates, after all.

What was my first fic and could I stand to reread it today: It was actually a KakaIru fic, and the first draft should be burned and never looked at again heh (it actually got trashed upon first rewrite, and thus is lost to the interwebs, thank God) The series it was part of is actually in the process of being rewritten, but that first one...*shudder*

In my opinion, what’s my best fic: This is a hard one 😭 I’m very torn and will probably change my mind later, but I think Come Someday (Ibiki/Raidou, E) ranks pretty high up there. Definitely not in terms of engagement, but it’s one I actually come back to and reread frequently.

Sine�� is �� amazing �� I loved that story but had wished there was more, like the greedy reader I am, so this is like the best thing I’ve ever heard? And honestly, make it intense and put us through hell–if we get a happy ending then that’s exactly my type of angsty hurt/comfort story.

I should probably clarify that this one is an entirely separate story from the story I actually posted. The one I am working on is established relationship Steve/Tony, set in (you guessed it) Avengers v3, and in some ways it’s sort of an AU of the Nefaria Protocols storyline but also it’s an excuse to have Tony hold bottles of liquor and cry.

(It was just that when I figured out I was going to need to write a different story and had to think of a different time when Whitney was showing up in Tony’s life again, World’s Most Wanted was the first thing that occurred to me. And I needed to keep it short so that was why the ending there was so open-ended and relatively angsty.)
